Today marks the end of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga, which is one of the greatest series to ever hit the manga world. My Hero Academia’s Chapter 430, which is the last chapter in the series, has finally been released, and it has brought an end to the epic superhero tale of Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and his classmates at U.A.
The story has been entertaining fans for the past ten years, and the central theme that the narrative is based on teaches fans to never give up no matter how bad things get. This morale is reflected the most in Izuku’s need to save everyone, even the worst villains in the series. However, the final chapter of the series had a little different message for fans.
In the final chapter, Horikoshi may have projected his own past through Izuku. The mangaka tried to explain that even though Izuku lost his quirk during the final battle, his life didn’t just end. He had much more to live on, and his life was worth more than what he thought it would be when he started school.
Kohei Horikoshi’s Final Message in My Hero Academia’s Chapter 430
The final chapter of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia portrays the story eight years into the future after the destruction that All for One did. All the students have grown up, and most of them have become pro-heroes except for the protagonist, Deku, who is writing his own tale in a journal explaining his experiences as a kid with no quirks and still saving the whole world.
As the story moves forward, My Hero Academia fans get to see their favorite characters being involved in other situations. Deku has joined Aizawa as a teacher for the newly admitted students at U.A. as he shares his knowledge with them. Not having his quirk might have made him miss all the action, but he is still satisfied with his current role.
However, as the final chapter moves towards a conclusion, All Might enters the scene, and he is seen carrying a suitcase that, according to the narrative, might help Izuku enter the battlefield once again. Thus, it seems like Izuku’s adventures as a superhero are just getting started, which also might be a decent plot for a sequel.
Izuku’s Narrative Might Have Projected Kohei Horikoshi’s Past
Even though Izuku lost the power to be a hero at such an early age, he still managed to save the world and continues to do so by inspiring new generations. Not only that, after eight years, he still got a chance to once again stand with his companions and feel what it’s like to be a superhero. This proves that there is a lot in life to live on.
This message in the final chapter that Horikoshi tried to deliver to his fans might have been inspired by his own journey. Horikoshi has been quite vocal about his dream of becoming a mangaka ever since he was young. However, his life might have planned some hurdles for him before he could write one of the best anime and manga series of all time.
According to @wlwdenji on X, Horikoshi was 27 years old when he first started working on My Hero Academia.
Horikoshi was 27 and coming off of two failed serializations when he started writing MHA, so it makes sense he would want to tell everyone that your life is worth more than where you’re at when you’re 17. https://t.co/2nSBytRWcm

Before that, he had a few series, none of which could earn him fame and recognition in the manga world. But the mangaka didn’t give up hope and continued to pursue his dream, believing in destiny, and thus he finally achieved it.
