While it has been two weeks since the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine hit theatres, the Deadpool fever is still far from over. Embracing his Merc with a Mouth persona, Ryan Reynolds recently joined Brandon Sklenar in a hilarious interview, which involved his mom Tammy Reynolds, and best friend Hugh Jackman.

Although the interview starts with them confronting Skienar individually, the actor ends up winning them over and is jokingly revealed to be Jackman’s pick for the next Wolverine.

Considering Brandon Sklenar stars as Blake Lively’s love interest in It Ends with Us, during the film’s promotion, in true Deadpool fashion, Ryan Reynolds proceeded to confront the actor. But it didn’t take long for an uncomfortable Skienar to win over Reynolds and later his mother Tammy Reynolds. Hugh Jackman too joined the actor in the interview, asking “What the hell are you doing messing with my best buddy’s wife”, to which Sklenar admitted he had zero idea what was happening.

However, amidst all the chaos, the 1923 star made sure to gush over the Deadpool & Wolverine star’s excellence in Les Misérables, stating

I do have to say, while I have you here, your work in Les Mis, what a triumph. I mean I am a huge fan. You can do it all—you’re a unicorn!

With Reynolds, his mom, and Jackman, impressed by the actor, the Logan star further joked “I think we found the next Wolverine”. However, considering Reynolds and Jackman filmed a lot of jokes leading up to the Deadpool threequel, it won’t be surprising if this was their way of revealing the next potential Wolverine.

As for Sklenar’s stance on the idea of playing MCU’s Wolverine, even though he would’ve have some big shoes to fill, if the offer does arrive, he is more than willing to take a swing at it.

MCU’s Wolverine will greatly differ from Hugh Jackman’s iteration

Speaking on the subject of a new Wolverine in the MCU, Kevin Feige shared that eventually down the line we will indeed see a new actor in the iconic role. However, per the Marvel boss, it’ll be a lot different from what has come before, as imitating Jackman’s iteration of the character would be a big mistake for any newcomer.

I think it will be in a very different style and in a different way. I also think if somebody were to attempt to do a Hugh Jackman as Wolverine impression, that would be a pretty big mistake

Although it remains to be seen if Jackman will be onboard for the upcoming Secret Wars, it’ll be also interesting to see if Sklenar is ever approached to take the torch from the Aussie star.

Deadpool & Wolverine is currently running in theatres.
