Two and a Half Men at one point was one of the most popular TV shows on our screen. While Charlie Sheen takes away the most credit for making the show as popular as it is today, there were an ample amount of memorable characters who added to the series’ charm and appeal. Apart from its many male characters, the show also had some memorable female characters who contributed to the show’s clever plot and stood out for their impeccable portrayal.

While Melaine Lynskey’s Rose is a more prominent female character to be featured in the show, another character gets severely overlooked despite her dynamic presence: Kelly Stables’ Melissa.

Two and a Half Men ran from 2003 to 2015. While the series suffered major setbacks in the middle, it has consistently featured some of the best fictional characters of all time. Although its male characters have received ample amount of attention over the years, its female characters have often occupied a back seat in the limelight.
Yet, Melanie Lynskey’s Rose has managed to stand out and received ample praise for her role in the show. In the midst of all this, one significant female character often gets overlooked, who deserves her own spotlight: Kelly Stables’ Melissa. Unlike other female characters, who often can be seen falling trap to one or the other of the show’s predictable tropes, Melissa’s role is crafted with care and attention to detail.
Despite starting as a seemingly superficial girlfriend, Melissa ended up turning into a fully fleshed-out individual. Her interactions with other characters often add a refreshing blend of humor and realism, aided by Kelly Stables’ unique comedic timing and emotional quotient. Despite being hurt and used by Alan, Melissa does not lose her good nature and maintains a sense of independence, which makes her character even more compelling.
Fans Believe Melissa is Two and a Half Men’s Most Overlooked Character

Kelly Stables’ Melissa is one of the most well-written and well-developed characters of Two and a Half Men but gets overlooked and subdued by the charm and appeal of other characters. Her witty dialogues and comebacks have always been a delight to watch, setting her apart from other supporting characters of the sitcom.
Her well-rounded character development is worth noting, adding to the depth and allure of her character. And even fans seem to agree that the character has not been able to get the recognition she deserves:

As fans appreciate Melissa and the way she was written, Kelly Stables’ portrayal of Melissa also deserves equal recognition. Adding a naturally refreshing and multi-dimensional element to Two and a Half Men character, Stables was one of the best actors in the show. Her character’s growth, humor, and unique traits further make her stand out as one of the most well-written characters in the series, who deserves equal attention as the rest of the characters, if not more.
Two and a Half Men can be streamed on Peacock.
