I know I’m in the minority here but I LOVE the first version they did. It was so striking and different and really stood out on its own as a design. The new version is more a people pleaser since it’s closer to his usual look, but it just doesn’t work as well for me. Just my take

Opinions may vary but this is a positive indication that the developers are exerting effort with character designs. It may not mean much to the average player but hardcore fans will appreciate the effort.
There is no telling what other improvements the developers prepared for the official launch. Perhaps more redesigned heroes and villains to spice up the variety of skins.
