The First Descendant offers a thrilling cooperative experience that is filled with fast-paced battles coupled with special abilities of characters and a plethora of weapons. The game has created a huge community that is dedicated and passionate about trying new things.
However, even the dedicated players are frustrated about one thing in the game, the uselessness of the handguns. Not only they are useless in almost all scenarios but also have a mastery system. Players believe that to make them viable, Nexon needs to make them dual-wielded.
Players Want The First Descendant’s HandGuns to be Dual Wielded
Weapons in third-person action shooters play a crucial part in the battle, especially in The First Descendant where players are fighting against hordes of enemies. The game offers a wide array of weapons that not only allow them to have a variety of builds but also help them keep the ammunition count in check.
Most weapons combined with characters’ abilities have a place in the game. Yet there are these handguns that are fairly common but provide no value as it does the least damage at any range and even equipping them is a waste of a slot. Players usually gather them and then later, dismantle them to get some materials.
Recently, Reddit User fdjw88 asked The First Descendant Community a question that sparked a whole lot of discussion. This leads to players suggesting various interesting and fun ideas, if implemented can actually raise the usage of the handguns.
Someone explain to me what do handguns do in this game?

The First Descendant has seen its fair share of ups and downs within a few months of release. Players were dissatisfied with the amount of microtransactions and various technical issues which were decreasing the gameplay experience.
However, surprising to players’ expectations, Nexon has stepped up and is showing that they are committed to increasing the player’s experience by listening to their feedback. The studio has addressed and fixed various issues in the game so players are expecting that it will once again hear their concerns about the handguns.
Players’ suggestions are mostly concentrated towards making the handguns dual wield, with the recent track record of the studio, there is a chance that they can implement these. In the end, players enjoy the game and simply ignore the handguns at the moment, using them only as a dismantled weapon.
