So… the world was introduced to several returning characters, new projects, and more at the D23 Expo that took place recently. From Daredevil: Born Again to Captain America: Brave New World, the expo had something in store for everyone.
When the trailer for Daredevil: Born Again was shown, fans went crazy after several iconic characters were shown reprising their role from the OG Netflix series. However, with these characters, comes a supervillain that no one is ready for.
Frank Castle Is Back, Baby!
It was the year 2016 when Jon Bernthal picked up a skull t-shirt and portrayed the role of Frank Castle aka The Punisher in the second season of Daredevil (the Netflix one).
Receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews, Bernthal and Netflix made a deal that he would be getting his own spin-off series titled The Punisher. The first season was released in 2017 and a second season in 2019.
Both seasons received critical acclaim and Jon Bernthal became known for the role of the Punisher. At the current D23 Expo, a trailer for Daredevil: Born Again was shown and fans were delighted to see the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in the upcoming MCU show.
As much as the people love Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, the world is simply not prepared for the supervillain that’s about to enter (or rather re-enter) the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Keen-eyed fans may have already spotted the threat but it seems that the trailer also shows the return of Wilson Bethel as the iconic Bullseye and it is going to be epic.
Fans Are Excited For Bullseye’s Return!
Wilson Bethel portrayed the role of Bullseye in the 2015 Netflix series Daredevil. Masking his psychotic disorder by being an assassin for hire, Bullseye is a psychopath and is one to be afraid of.
Bethel portrayed the role in the third season of the Netflix show and fans loved the character. Being manipulated by Kingpin, the final season shows Bullseye undergoing reconstructive spine surgery.
This indicates that he will surely return to the fold of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Daredevil: Born Again. Several keen-eyed fans also spotted who seems to be Bullseye.
From the looks of it, fans have surely enjoyed the trailer as the hype and anticipation for Daredevil: Born Again is increasing every minute. The fans simply cannot keep calm.
With Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock in the series alongside Jon Bernthal and Wilson Bethel, the world is waiting.
Daredevil: Born Again is set for a release in March 2025 in the U.S.
