Helldivers 2 is incredibly successful and Arrowhead Game Studios has always tried to listen to fans’ feedback. The gaming community was impressed with how much the developers improved in the sequel and it did not take long for the studio to lose momentum.
The game developers have been going through a rough patch and it is slowly affecting the game’s quality and the player base has had enough with cannon fodder content. Arrowhead is plum out of inspiration and fresh creative ideas; however, the game developers failed to realize the solution is from the past.
The Current State of Helldivers 2 Could Be Improved With a Touch of Nostalgia
The game developers of Arrowhead Game Studios have yet to bounce back from past controversies and the community is running out of patience. The live service game was released a few months ago for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms and it had a great run until Helldivers 2 players called out the developers to make it fun again.
The Freedom’s Flame Premium Warbond was recently dropped; however, it did not distract the player base from focusing on more pressing matters like the current condition of the game. The developers have run into a void of creative and unique ideas to improve in-game content and quality.
This could have been avoided if the studio reflected on the original game’s success years ago.
If only there was a game that Arrowhead could draw inspiration from, where mechs and turrets were actually a viable playstyle, and had a meta governed by diverse strong weapons instead of continual oppressive nerfs.

Fans of the original game suggested bringing back classic game mechanics for a sense of familiarity. Players missed the ability to upgrade their gear and firearms and are optimistic that the game developers would at least consider carrying it over to the sequel and entice legacy players to try the sequel.
The original game had a few points the sequel does not like having a flamethrower attachment on Mechs. Players would love to use a flamethrower to make these missions easier and more convenient on their behalf; however, it seems like the game developers are hell-bent on doing the complete opposite failing to meet the gaming community’s expectations.
Helldivers 1 One-Upped the Sequel in a Way That Most Did Not Expect

It is disheartening to see game developers try to appeal to the gaming community unconventionally like borrowing inspiration and taking notes from other games rather than their previous success. Perhaps the studio did not expect features from the original game to work in the sequel.
If something isn’t broken, there is no reason to fix it. Arrowhead Game Studios failed to realize the solution to all their problems an older strategy they implemented years ago.
The gaming community did not appreciate the recent nerfs with the latest Helldivers 2 patch. Players are struggling to keep up with the overpowered enemies with the gear at their disposal and this should have been addressed sooner rather than later.
The daily active player count is dwindling and the developers require assistance. The first game was a step in the right direction and should have been followed up.
