The story is loved by the original fans of the manga, as it showcased hand-drawn animation when it was released back in 1999. Though this style evoked a sense of nostalgia among older fans, the newer generation is not too fond of it.

Nevertheless, it looks like WIT Studio has taken this into consideration and has pledged to make the newer generation a fan of the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. However, this generation is used to watching modern series, which poses a massive struggle to watch older series like Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, and even Oda-Sensei’s One Piece.

Due to technological advancements, young people who are used to watching modern anime might find the visuals of One Piece, which started airing 25 years ago, difficult to watch because of the different format.

Hence, they decided to come up with a remake of the 1999 anime series to reach a wider audience, which many viewers had felt hesitant to watch previously.

As a result, the viewers went to social media to express their delight and how they would be watching the remake and witness the journey of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirate Crew.
