Due to the late Chadwick Boseman’s legendary performance in films like Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther, the character of T’Challa has become extremely popular. While Marvel did not recast Boseman after his untimely death during the sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, T’Challa’s legacy is set to be explored in Eyes of Wakanda.

Marvel animation chief Brad Winderbaum also mentioned that unlike other animated series such as X-Men’97 and the recently announced Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda woud have a more direct connection to the MCU. He said on Marvel’s official podcast,

Eyes of Wakanda, more than any other show we’re doing in animation, ties directly into the MCU. This is a story about Wakandan history. It’s produced by Ryan Coogler and directed by Todd Harris who is one of our longtime storyboard artists who I first met when he designed the Hulk vs. Thor fight in Ragnarok.

Winderbaum also mentioned that the four-episode series would chronicle the history of Wakanda while also navigating the greeted MCU timeline.
