The range that is provided by the franchises is an endless supply of entertainment that keeps the fans happy with more and more quality content. Such is the fate of Oda’s series. To act as the cherry on top, Netflix’s The One Piece is the remake that would gather an even bigger fanbase for the series.

The One Piece Can Escape Toei Animation’s Censorship

Streaming anime, especially when they were initially released decades ago, can be a starkly different experience from those that are coming out now. Rules and laws were different, what is encouraged now was looked down upon earlier. One of the biggest examples is the censorship that used to be much tighter. For an anime like One Piece which has been going on for decades, the quality of animation has changed as time has passed.

The earlier seasons may have been difficult to watch for many fans who wanted to get into the anime but simply couldn’t. What the remake would offer is a fresh outlook and view that would encourage a bigger, wider, and newer audience to watch the anime. The first look of the series has given a surface-level idea of just what the fans would be getting into with the new anime.

One of the highlights of this new anime with the updated animation can also be seen rather subtly with what Eiichiro Oda had established in the manga very evidently. Sometimes anime find themselves bending to censorship demands and Toei Animation did the same. However, WIT Studio might escape that pattern.

Embrace the Gore

With the images and first looks that have been released by WIT Studio, it becomes clear that the studio isn’t taking the One Piece remake lightly. Moreover, one thing that gets highlighted is the presence of blood. While the original manga is nothing compared to other gory projects, it has its own fair share of dark moments that never made it into the anime.

Netflix’s remake could change that seeing that they rarely pull their punches with graphic content. Other successful animated adaptations like Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Castlevania have all been given the best treatment in embracing the darker side of their worlds. The upcoming remake could meet the same fate.

It would allow the newer fans to experience a One Piece unlike any other while also giving the fans what they missed out on. It won’t just be a remake but a fresh outlook on a fan-favorite masterpiece.

One Piece is available to watch on Netflix.
