September 23 will mark the first anniversary of Mortal Kombat 1, bringing bloody fights and flashy fatalities to every gamer’s screen. The series has consistently offered some of the most gratuitous and satisfying 1v1 fighting experiences, and that’s in large part due to its character roster.

While the playable characters in the game’s universe are formidable on their own, Mortal Kombat 1 has also seen characters from other media enter the fray to wreak havoc. Here are five more that would fit right into the game and offer some unique fights too!

5. Carnage (Spider-Man)

Given that strange beings are already present in the game, Carnage would be quite at home among the other killers, brutes, and savages present in Mortal Kombat 1. Now, many might want to see Venom instead of his offspring, but the brutality and ruthlessness that Cletus Kasady and his symbiote bring to the table are far worse than what Venom is known for.

With the ability to shape his tentacles into weapons, lightning-fast reflexes, and a psychopathic mind fueled by thoughts of violence and anger, Carnage would be a force to be reckoned with. Considering there is already a mod bringing Spider-Man to the game, it could make sense for one of his most dangerous and relentless enemies to make an official appearance.

4. Doomguy (Doom)

After beating the denizens of Hell, Doomguy’s next victims could be the fighters from the Netherrealm. With his entire arsenal of guns, power-ups, and raw strength, Doomguy could make a detour to Mortal Kombat 1 before he is due for an appearance in the upcoming The Dark Ages.

Fans would no doubt want to see the characters’ signature double-barreled shotgun as part of the move set. The BFG would also make for a good addition, along with the grappling hook that could resemble Scorpion’s chain.

We’ve already seen that Doomguy is pretty creative when dealing finishing moves to various hellspawn, and he could carry over the same imaginative approach to the other fighters.

3. Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard from Hellsing having been damaged in the face by bullets would make a good character in Mortal Kombat 1.

Few characters in media can get as deranged as Alucard in a fight. As the guard dog for the Hellsing Organization, this ancient vampire is usually kept on a tight leash, but maybe Integra can let him have some fun in another universe that won’t impact her own.

Having lived for over 500 years, Alucrad has picked up several tricks to help him gain an advantage in a fight. Aside from his large caliber guns and near-instantaneous regeneration, Alucard has access to some dark and downright creepy magic that would make for amazing fatality sequences.

Don’t be surprised if you see his head and arms drop off before the opponent is eviscerated!

2. Commander Titus (Warhammer 40K: Space Marines)

When not busy fighting off hordes of Tyranids, Commander Titus would undoubtedly want to keep his skills sharp and battle reflexes ready for the next threat. What better place to do that than one of the most dangerous tournaments across the realms, against some of the best fighters ever known?

A Space Marine in Mortal Kombat 1 would be the perfect way to add to the already insane hype built for the upcoming title. Titus’ bioengineered enhanced capabilities would make him a worthy competitor in the tournament, allowing him to go up against the best of the best. If allowed to keep his arsenal and armor, few could have a real shot at the title.

1. Conquest (Invincible)

We already have one Viltrumite in the game, but maybe it’s time to bring in someone who even Omni-Man would have difficulty taking down. Easily one of the strongest of his race, Conquest is in a league of his own when discussing the capabilities of the alien race.

A major antagonist in the series, Conquest brings with him all the strengths we know of Omni-Man, but with even more experience in fighting. Not a stranger to violence, we can expect some truly brutal fatalities that are meant to not only dispatch the enemy but also show others he is not one to be trifled with.
