The release of Space Marine 2 grows closer, and the excitement among fans could be cut through with a knife. In a franchise where players are given the freedom to be whoever they want to and do what they want, it’s not surprising to see fans passionate about how much the game will play into that.

With the confirmation that Operations mode will let you play with A.I co-op partners instead of real people if you so choose, some fans have come up with ideas on how customization could play a role in that.

Initially, there was a scare that this co-op mode would be locked out entirely if you didn’t feel like playing with other people. The issue was quickly resolved though, as it was confirmed the game would have A.I. cooperators in place of real people if you preferred that. Crisis averted.

Recently though, one Redditor came up with an interesting suggestion that built on top of this feature.

Soloplay Bots

There are different classes you can pick for your Space Marines, which will affect the abilities you have. Currently, it’s assumed that when you go with a certain class in the PvE co-op mode, the two other A.I players will be automatically assigned different classes, along with some generic outfits.

To make this a lot more exciting and personalized, OP suggests that the other two A.I players instead were customized Space Marines? Specifically, the loadout and look that you’ve set for those particular classes.

OP included a humorous little ask too. If these A.I bots could run around with you in the pre-game lobby, it would be the cherry on top.

Focus Entertainment Has an Opportunity to Do Something Cool

If anyone should be reading this Reddit post, it’s someone from Focus. Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely seeing as how the post didn’t gain much traction.

Those who did see it, though, wholeheartedly agreed with OP’s ask. There would be a lot more incentive to customize load-outs for different classes if we could see them being used in Space Marine 2, aside from on ourselves.

One player explained that Warhammer: Vermintide had a similar feature.

Even though it was from a different studio, if it’s been done once before, there’s no reason it can’t be done again.

Some people, like this player here, choose to play solo throughout the entire game. For them, it would be nice to have that extra level of customization.

The outfit customization in the new Warhammer 40K game might not be the most extensive, but with what players have, it would be nice to have some more freedom on who they can glam up.
