We’ve seen bugs like the sneak exploit that let players become assassin Gods, but this 7 Days to Die bug is one that you wouldn’t want to experience.

One Redditor was enjoying a session of the game and minding their own business until something unexpected happened.

The second OP walked up to the POI symbol, when suddenly, without warning, blood splattered across the screen, indicating they’d been injured.

WTF happened? Is this a scripted event?

They frantically looked around them, trying to find whatever hurt them, but what they saw was something nobody could’ve predicted.

It wasn’t a zombie, a feral animal, or some random player that hacked their way into their 7 Days to Die Xbox save. No, the ground in front of them was caving in, starting as a small sinkhole and rapidly growing bigger.

The sinkhole even took down parts of the shack they were standing near and continued to swallow the ground around it.

You’d expect to see something like this in a scripted event, not as a bug. It’s what led OP to post the clip of this situation on the 7 Days to Die subreddit, asking if this was supposed to happen.

This clip unsurprisingly came as a shock to many 7 Days to Die PS5, Xbox, and PC gamers, who never experienced such an event in their game themselves.

People tried to sort out what happened in the comments, but most players seemed to have no clue.

It’s a miracle that OP managed to keep their wits about them and immediately run away. Other players admit they’d have been eating dirt at the bottom of the hole in no time.

As terrifying as that was to experience, some players feel like it would be a cool addition to the game.

Environmental hazards would certainly introduce an extra challenge, but this being completely unintentional ruins all the fun.

One player had a theory as to what might’ve happened. They explained that POIs have their Structural Integrity calculator turned off because they’re designed to look how the developers want them to.

However, something caused a truck to explode in the vicinity, affecting the number of blocks in the POI and accidentally triggering the Structural Integrity calculator. This caused everything to sink into the ground. It’s a theory, but a convincing one.

Regarding a comment mentioned earlier, would you consider having an environmental hazard mechanic added to the game that causes situations like this? Let us know in the comments below!
