Secret Invasion introduced audiences of the MCU to The Harvest, which had the Skrull going through the battlefield where Thanos fought he Avengers in Avengers: Endgame. Their objective was to collect DNA samples from all the enhanced beings that had spilled blood in the battle, be it Captain America, Captain Marvel, the Black Order, Black Panther, or Thor.

A theory on Reddit suggests that Captain America: Brave New World might carry over some plot points from Secret Invasion, specifically how Red Hulk was created. It is expected that the character will have a different origin story, and could reasonably be a Skrull agent, hearkening back to the ‘New World Order’ subtitle that was scrapped.

A theory posted to Reddit by u/Former_Assistance526 suggests that Red Hulk in the MCU might just be created from The Harvest, just as Super Skrulls are, or in fact, Thunderbolt Ross could be a Skrull himself. Not only that, but given that Red Hulk seems like a call back to Red Skull, who was similarly obsessed with a super soldier program, might just have Ross or Skrull-Ross, side with a still-festering Hydra, which could use Serpent Society as one of its wings.

Given that the Fantastic Four do not exist in the MCU, Super-Skrulls that appeared in Secret Invasion were created using the abilities of various creatures that exist on Earth in the wake of Avengers: Endgame. Therefore, the Hulk could be created in a number of ways, such as fusing the process that yielded the Hulk with Extremis, which could yield a Hulk who gets hotter as he gets angrier.

Captain America: Brave New World has a lot to figure out

There are a lot of stray threads from a slew of Disney+ Marvel shows that could feed into the Captain America: Brave New World. Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Secret Invasion, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law seem like they might have plot threads that could lead into the events of Captain America: Brave New World. Sharon Carter is still at large as the power broker, who is possibly selling US State Secrets to bad actors like the Seprect Society, who will be appearing in Brave New World.

Further, given that Red Hulk is almost as strong as the real Hulk himself, Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner, and Skaar may be brought in, not just to defend the President’s actions, but also to bring him to heel should he hulk-out without meaning to.

Secret Invasion also created a lot of problems for the United States Government, given that Ritson’s ratings were abysmal even in Secret Invasion, which might have led to him getting replaced by Thunderbolt Ross in the next election. The character will have to deal with a slew of threats, which could lead to his want to reform the Avengers, as seen in the footage of Brave New World.

Secret Invasion, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law can be streamed on Disney Plus.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to hit theatres on February 14th, 2025.
