The game’s success can be attributed to Riot’s commitment to constantly pushing the boundaries and elevating the experience. That, combined with a robust esports scene, makes the future look bright for the hero-shooter.

Riot Games Can Easily Fix Valorant Toxicity Issue

It’s a known fact that player toxicity has been a longstanding problem for many competitive online titles and isn’t exclusive to Valorant. We’ve seen games such as League of Legends and Helldivers 2 suffer from toxic players who are hampering the online scene, especially as they grow in popularity.

In recent months, Riot has taken steps to combat the growing toxicity in its shooter. The developer is aiming for more manual reviews for in-game toxicity alongside expanding voice chat measuring. However, as pointed out by gamers on Reddit, the shooter is in desperate need of a behavior score and a way to commend teammates.

Behavior scores could be the way to finally shut down the toxicity issue once and for all. By giving scores based on in-game behavior, such as communication and sportsmanship, Riot can easily identify and penalize players who ruin the experience for everyone else.

Commending teammates can also go a long way toward encouraging positive reinforcement and a supportive environment in Valorant. When gamers are praised for their efforts and good behavior, it will contribute to the team’s success. Riot can take this to the next level and even reward such players with exclusive rewards.

Both of these features are a perfect way to deal with in-game toxicity and finally establish a community that doesn’t tilt within five minutes of their matches. Considering Riot’s history of listening to player feedback, there’s a high chance we’re likely to see these features in the near future.

Recently, Valorant Updates on X/Twitter revealed that Riot is developing a brand new feature dubbed “Black List.” The goal behind this latest addition is to give gamers a new way to block or restrict players.

When a player is added to the list, they won’t be able to send you a friend request or invitation and will be muted for the entirety of the game.

It’s a step in the right direction for Riot to deal with the rampant toxicity that’s been plaguing the shooter for years. However, the community is still confused, wondering if the feature would work just like Call of Duty‘s block list, which outright tells gamers if a blocked player is in their lobby.

Sure, it’s not the behavior score addition that gamers have been asking for ages at this point, but it’s still a decent way to deal with obnoxious players. Various players believe that the game experience might become even better if the studio brings an option to avoid certain players in the game.

Do you think Riot needs to add any other feature to reduce toxicity in the hero-shooter? If so, let us know in the comments!
