“Tanjiro would have become a second Yoriichi”: Demon Slayer Theory Claims Koyoharu Gotouge Made a Disastrous Error by Not Letting a Major Character Die in Season 3

Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer definitely sets a new standard for anime series, as it achieved the impromptu title of being ‘anime of the decade.’  Unlike other Shonen anime present out there, Gotouge-San’s magnum opus is popular because all its characters are loved by the fans.

The show is infectiously popular among the otakus, as they are eagerly waiting for the 5th season of the series after it delivered one of the greatest cliffhangers with the Hashiras and Tanjiro Kamado’s group infiltrating Demon King’s Infinity Castle.

While Kamado is immensely dedicated to defeating the Demon King Muzan, a fan theory has circulated around the internet that he was quite close to straying away from his path. According to the theory, he nearly followed Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s path in Season 3’s finale.

Koyoharu Gotouge Avoided a Grave Mistake in Demon Slayer’s Season 3

Koyoharu Gotouge has ensured that his Shonen series will be one of the most traumatic works out there. After all, fans are emotionally devastated by the deaths of so many of their favorite characters.

As fans recall, when a Demon Slayer obtained the Demon Slayer mark, they were expected to live a short life in which they would meet a tragic fate, dying before the age of 25. This curse is a bane that comes along with enhanced abilities.

Our protagonist had also unlocked the mark in the Entertainment Arc in the second season of the series. While the character is fated for something greater, he is immensely close to forsaking his destiny.

A fan page (@hoshi_aqua) of the anime and manga series shared a reel on Instagram, where they stated, “If Nezuko hadn’t survived that day Tanjiro would have become a seond Yoriichi for Muzan.” The clip was from the finale of the Swordsmith Village Arc, where Nezuko assisted his brother in executing Hantengu, the Upper Moon Four.

Ardent fans will recall that the battle reached a climax in the final minutes, with fans biting their nails in anticipation that scenes from the Mugen Train Arc would be repeated. However, Kamado Tanjiro and Nezuko took matters into their own hands and executed one of the Upper Moons.

Not to mention, Nezuko is a demon too, who was immensely close to dying as the sun was rising, which is the most formidable weakness for a demon. Surprisingly, a miracle took place, which saved her from dying.

Had his sister died, the protagonist would not have taken it anymore. He underwent intense training to become a part of the Demon Slayer Corpse so that he can find a cure to turn back into a human being. Hence, the death of his last family member would have been too much for him to take, and he could have potentially joined hands with Muzan to save his dying sister.

Fans Should Brace For The Infinity Castle Arc

With the Fourth Season of the series coming to a conclusion, the Hashiras, Tanjiro Kamado, and his group of friends are ready to take down the Upper Moon and the Demon Lord, Kibutsuji Muzan.

Ufotable, the studio behind the animation of the series, has done a phenomenal job in animating the title. With each season, the studio raises the bar. The fifth season is going to break the norms, as it will be divided into a trilogy, which will be released in theaters.

The final season of Demon Slayer would be a thrilling one that would take its viewers on a rollercoaster of emotions. Moreover, the Demon Slayer Corps has to be extremely careful, as Yoriichi Tsugikuni will also be a major threat to the Hashiras.

Furthermore, they must be extremely careful, as they need to take down the Upper Moons and the Demon King to make the world a peaceful place to live, where people would not fear an Oni lurking in the shadows.
