In the realm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, anything and everything is possible. Thus, channeling its multiversal magic, Marvel Studios just a couple of days ago revealed the return of Robert Downey Jr. Now helming one of the most iconic villains of all time, Doctor Doom, RDJ had come a long way from when he kickstarted the MCU with his legendary portrayal of Iron Man.
As fans and his fellow stars celebrate the feat, Anthony Mackien has a bone to pick. The actor is apparently ‘aggravated’ that RDJ stole one of the biggest days of his MCU career by feeding him a goat!
Anthony Mackie Hilariously Real After Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom Reveal
The internet has been pretty much up in flames ever since Marvel Studios announced that one of the most iconic actors of the MCU will now be helming one of its most villainous roles. Robert Downey Jr., thanks to Marvel’s multiversal magic, will now be portraying the biggest and baddest character, Doctor Doom, in the concluding saga of MCU’s Phase 6.
While the majority is happy and celebrating his return, RDJ’s Marvel co-star Anthony Mackie is not very pleased. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mackie went on a hilarious rant on why he isn’t happy.
You know what makes me mad? I thought I was good. Like, I came out and everybody was like ‘Oh my god, that’s the best trailer ever.’ I’m like ‘I got Harrison Ford. Ahhhh!’ So, we come off stage, and I hear ‘Robert Downey Jr. just announced that he’s coming back to the universe.’ And I’m like ‘But no, I just, I got Harrison Ford.’ I don’t even know what it’s called. ‘Doomsday,’ ‘Doommalicious.’ But he could’ve did that the day after. He had to do that at Comic-Con? Let me have Comic-Con, dawg.
Mackie has never been the one to hold back, whether it is roasting his fellow co-stars (Tom Holland!) or calling out Marvel. The Captain America 4 star then went on to state how Downey got his chef to cook him a goat!
Like, we go back dawg. Like, his chef dug a hole and cooked a goat, and stayed out there with the goat — this is a true story! I don’t even know where she got a goat. We was in Georgia! He cooked me a goat, he could have let me have that day.
But Mackie wasn’t too pleased with what Downey had done for him. Instead, he hilariously remarked,
I hope I get to punch Robert Downey Jr. in the face for feeding me goat and then stealing my day.
While it is shocking that Marvel would keep such a huge announcement a secret even from its actors, Mackie’s reaction is similar to what some Marvel fans have been saying on social media. While the actor’s amusing rant goes viral, there is no denying that even we would love to see Mackie’s Captain America have a go at RDJ’s Doctor Doom!
Marvel Fans React to Anthony Mackie’s Hilarious and Chaotic RDJ Rant!
Anthony Mackie may be best recognized by fans for his iconic MCU role of Falcon, but his sharp wit and unapologetically candid personality have earned him just as much admiration beyond the superhero spotlight. As a result, his recent hilarious rant on Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom announcement went viral across social media.
While some fans had similar reactions and agreed with his view, others instead took his words with a pinch of amusement and sarcasm.

LOL! I'm hype for Captain America Brave New World!— Jason (U mad) (@EmperorTChalla) August 16, 2024
It’s funny for a few reasons 😭 1 he’s 100% right they could’ve announced it on a different day. 2. They really should have casted someone else, this was a lazy choice. 3. There is a goat farm somewhere in the middle of Atlanta 😂

i love how real and transparent he is, while others walk on eggshelves to prevent internet hate (which i understand because it gets nuts) mackie doesn't give a fvck

He's never going to be allowed to be 100% the center of attention even though he deserves it. In so many ways I think he's scares them because he's not afraid to speak the truth. All I know is I can't wait for 2 hours of him on the big screen as a perfect Captain America.

So far of him to be upfront about that because he’s not wrong granted it’s more Kevin Feige than Robert Downey, but like I never thought about it from his perspective, he was like stepping into the leadership role and just got sidekicked yet again

As Anthony Mackie’s comments go viral, there is no denying that, as of now, RDJ’s Doctor Doom reveal has overshadowed other MCU projects. Yet, fans are looking up for the Oscar-winning actor’s return to the world of Marvel, and after Deadpool & Wolverine‘s brilliant box-office performance, things seem to be looking up for the superhero franchise.
Captain America: Brave New World will be in theatres on 14 February 2025.
