Since then the two have become internet sensations, but fans were once again sent into a frenzy following a report, which alleged the duo have parted ways. Although Keoghan and Carpenter have yet to tackle these claims directly, the former did sort of put these rumors to rest.

On Friday, the gossip account DeuxMoi posted an anonymous tip, claiming Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter have broken up, which reasonably startled fans. However, not long after these rumors started swirling, The Batman star sort of put them to rest by liking Carpenter’s recent IG post, promoting her upcoming album, Short n’ Sweet.

While the actor, who previously starred in the Espresso singer’s Please, Please, Please music video, hasn’t tackled the rumors head-on, Keoghan’s social media gesture might be his way of clearing the air.

Ahead of the release of her upcoming album, Short n’ Sweet, Sabrina Carpenter joined Variety to talk at length about the forthcoming album and also touched on her previous collaboration with Keoghan.

Speaking of The Banshees of Inisherin star, who starred as the problematic boyfriend in Please, Please, Please, the actress revealed the actor has been obsessed with its lyrics.

He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics, and I’m so grateful for that,

Following Keoghan’s acting stature, whom she deemed one of the best actors of our generation, Carpenter stressed that his involvement made the music video more special.

She continued:

I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation. So getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special.

Set to hit the shelves next week, Short n’ Sweet will be the singer’s sixth studio album release. But despite this being her sixth one, Carpenter, who has been successful in her transformation from a Disney princess to a pop star, expressed that sometimes, she still feels like a new artist.
