The Alien and Predator franchise have been around for ages now, and have become cinematic staples of the science fiction genre. Having spawned multiple sequels, stand-alone flicks, and spin-offs, the franchises are yet to reach the interconnected grandeur that modern-day staples like the MCU enjoy. Yet, all this could change if only Alien: Romulus director, Fede Álvarez decides to go the Quentin Tarantino way.

The director recently teased making a potential Alien vs. Predator film split between two directors, similar to how Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez collaborated on From Dusk Till Dawn. This unorthodox approach to filmmaking (if it takes place) can help elevate the two franchises to new heights, possibly towards MCU-level glory.

Fede Álvarez‘s latest entry into the Alien franchise has been one hell of a ride, to say the least. Filled with several interesting homages to previous iconic entries in the franchise, and containing a brilliant storyline, with the intensity of a horror flick, Alien: Romulus has quickly become one of the best movies of the science fiction franchise.

Álvarez has proven to be a true and worthy successor of Ridley Scott and James Cameron, two legendary directors who helped kickstart the Alien universe. Seeing the positive reviews the movie has been receiving, fans now want the director to helm another potential sequel in the franchise. However, Álvarez has his own ideas about what movie he wants to helm next.

In a latest interview with Deadline, Fede Álvarez revealed he is open to making a new Alien vs. Predator film, similar to how (as per Deadline) Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez co-wrote From Dusk Till Dawn.

Maybe it’s something I have to co-direct with my buddy Dan [Trachtenberg]. Maybe we should do like Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez did with Dusk Till Dawn. I’ll direct a half, and he’ll direct another half.

With Romulus projected to do exceptionally well at the box office, the chances of such a film happening seem more possible since Álvarez revealed he will only make an Alien vs. Predator film if his flick performs well.

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s unconventional approach in making From Dusk Till Dawn remains significant even now, for despite the two directors/screenwriters’ different approaches to filmmaking, the film remains a cult classic today. So to have Fede Álvarez, fresh off directing Alien: Romulus, and Dan Trachtenberg, known best for making 2022’s epic Prey (a Predator prequel), could bring an exciting twist to the franchise, mixing tones and styles to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

As the director’s comments went viral, this is what fans had to state:

With fans reacting so positively, we do hope the director listens to the cries of fans and gets back into the director’s chair asap. After seeing the success that Alien: Romulus is projected to have, having Fede Álvarez dive back into the franchise can potentially help the two sci-fi movie series climb the rank of success and reach the glory that MCU enjoys.
