Developed by Astral Clocktower Studios it takes players into the mystical lands of Ailur as they assume the role of a cat-like warrior known as a Raksakkar. While still without a proper full release date, there will be a chance for everyone interested to try the game firsthand at Gamescom and see what this unique premise has to offer.

Kristala’s Main Selling Point Is A Feline Warrior

Kristala stands out in the crowded Soulslike genre with a major selling point. It offers players an opportunity to step into the paws of a feline warrior. Traversing the mystical world of Ailur, the game features six different clans, and each specializes in different elemental magic that can be leveled through a spell tree.

This is far more reminiscent of Skyrim than any other action RPG but the game comes with more delicacy inspired by Sekiro combat, as players can regenerate mana through melee combat and then use it to equip 16 different spells.

As players take on the role of a cat-like soldier, they will face a wide variety of enemies, such as Lophi the Lost, a powerful water-element spellcaster. While the game borrows from many different titles in the genre, this is just a minor reveal in the great scheme of what Kristala offers to fans of action RPGs and Soulslike games.

Developed by Astral Clocktower, and being made by a team of 40 individuals, the upcoming dark fantasy has a chance to shine at Gamescom as a true indie gem. While still in early access, with a substantial self-funded investment of $2 million.

The limited demo of the game will be available during Gamescom and to secure a spot for the demo, interested parties can contact Andrea and schedule a session as a feline warrior.

While a concrete release date is yet to be announced, it is believed that the game will be ready for a fall 2025 release. Until then, Kristala on its own has a journey to conquer which won’t be an easy one for an indie game in today’s gaming industry setting.
