Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth has, so far, impeccably proven his outstanding ability to drive people to sheer levels of exhaustion—both physically and mentally. If anything, besides killing it with his perfect and highly unpredictable moves, Deadpool’s giant mouth that just can’t keep shut further helps him defeat his enemies entertainingly like no other.

That said, there have been quite a bit of characters who just couldn’t win against the mercenary and were met with humiliating battles resulting in their witty opponent’s favor. One of these is Anthony “Tony” Masters, the very villain who has defeated even Iron Man and Captain America, but for whom Reynolds’ character would be a nightmare in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth Has Proven to be a Nightmare for Taskmaster

The Taskmaster has served as one of the most iconic villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, renowned for his unique ability to immaculately copy the fight moves of his opponents by just looking at them in the comics. With such skills, he has not only defeated Captain America but also Iron Man (even though he cheated using an equalizer in the S.H.I.E.L.D. tech) in the books.

However, when it comes to facing Wade Wilson, Anthony “Tony” Masters has faced some seriously humiliating conclusions to his fights. This is because the Merc with a Mouth doesn’t hesitate to exploit his opponent’s greatest skill of being able to replicate and predict the movements of the one he’s fighting, since he pretty much does not have a fixed fighting style up his sleeve.

As fans already know, Wade is as sarcastic, non-serious, and crazy about everything at least 90% of the time as no one else. That said, even his fighting style is anything but the same and consistent as he takes down his rivals.

This, of course, has thrown Masters off his own game one too many times incredibly mortifyingly, leading to him being on the losing team.

Even in the animated series, Pool never held back while rubbing it in Master’s face that his notable fight-move-replicating-ability won’t work with him. Just like he did in episode 16 of season 2 of Ultimate Spider-Man, as he sang and danced with the most unpredictable moves while fighting Masters and attacking him with his sarcasm and puns, easily defeating him.

With all of this being put out there, assuming Ryan Reynolds‘ anti-hero does end up facing the Black Widow villain in the MCU, it would be nothing short of a nightmare for the latter—both physically and emotionally. That said, fans have some of the most iconic reactions to Wade’s strongest ability (his inconsistency) overpowering Masters by such great measure.

Fans Love How Deadpool’s Unpredictability Leaves Taskmaster Baffled

Just like pretty much everyone else, the Merc with a Mouth has managed to leave even Anthony “Tony” Masters frustrated and baffled to the core by just how unpredictable and carefree he is, even while fighting a nemesis who could pose a problem to him. And, of course, this very element is what makes fans love him all the more.

On a clip of the Ultimate Spider-Man episode recently dug up and re-shared by @thewebgeek18 on Instagram, they seem to be mirroring similar amused and thoroughly entertained reactions. Take a look for yourself:

“Can’t copy my style if i don’t have one” -Deadpool ~ @marc0_4ntonio_

He can’t copy deadpool because even deadpool has no clue what he’s doing half of the time😂 ~ @fa.rojasx

Spiderman: “Watch out! Taskmaster can copy your moves.” Deadpool: *casually pulls out a ROCKET LAUNCHER.* 🚀💀 ~ @justjose210

I love how the only people taskmaster can’t fight r deadpool and moon knight because when he copies their styles of fighting he gets more hurt because they both don’t use defence since they’re invincible ~ @nicktaylor06

I love how he can’t copy Deadpool because he’s literally unpredictable. ~ @kylobenkin

Deadpool is basically the “never let them see your next move” meme ~ @lilypadz132

Well, to say the least, Reynolds’ over-hyped, sarcastic to the core, and tenaciously profanity-filled anti-hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could ace it like no other (not that he isn’t already) and deliver the ultimate entertaining experience to laugh down to tears at if he ends up facing the Black Widow villain in live-action too.
