Perhaps one of the most popular Wolverine variants in the film was Henry Cavill’s The Cavillrine. He was a fan-favorite cast for the role anyway, and he absolutely nailed it. But, what about those who are not-so-famous but left a lasting impact? Take, for instance, the Short King Wolverine.

Did Hugh Jackman Play Short King Wolverine Variant?

As Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool travels through different portals of the multiverse to search for the Wolverine that would solve his problems and save his universe from destruction, he meets different versions of Hugh Jackman’s famed mutant.

There’s a handful actually, and these are Wolverine variants that fans have never seen before in the X-Men films. The Australian star portrayed a gambling alter-ego named Patch in his classic white tuxedo, an Old Man Logan, a crucified Wolverine, and a Short King Wolverine.

So, how did Jackman shrink himself to Wolverine’s comic book-accurate height of 5 feet 3 inches if he stands at 6 feet 2 inches? No, he didn’t shrink himself and no, they didn’t use CGI on his body. In fact, almost everything in it was real because it was played by a real actor.

Apparently, Jackman had a body double named Luke Bennett who is indeed a short king and stands at 4 feet 11 inches. Marvel Studios only used CGI to put Jackman’s face on top of the actor to seamlessly show that this is truly the most accurate appearance of Wolverine.

For some reason, the actor was not credited as part of the stunt personnel, as per this list from IMDb. He already has a couple of past works as an extra such as The Witcher: Season 3, Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, and The Northman, so it’s a mystery why they left out his name in the credits.

Good thing netizens found out about the actor’s profile because now, we have a comic book-accurate Wolverine who could potentially be considered as a successor to Jackman. He already has the looks and the height, and surely, he’s got some acting skills to match as well.
