Blunt’s appearance on Vanity Fair‘s famous lie detector test in 2021 shed more light on what might have happened and whether she and Lively were laughing at Zendaya. After seeing the photo and being asked about their reaction, she said:

She didn’t stop at just tweeting, though. The star also made a point — still in a joking manner — that she wasn’t going to be labeled as mean. She said her attention wasn’t on Lively and Blunt, suggesting that the photo’s angle was misleading.
