Blake Lively has been in the spotlight for a while now. Since her Gossip Girl days, she hasn’t exactly won over the public, or some fellow artists. Her personality and behavior don’t sit well with everyone, as many find her rude and out of touch.
One of these moments was even talked about in 2021 by Emily Blunt and Zendaya. They were caught up in a curious scene with Lively at a fashion show. A single photo sparked a lot of chatter, leading both actresses to explain what really went down.
Emily Blunt Comments On Zendaya’s Photo Controversy With Her And Blake Lively
Since the release of It Ends With Us, Blake Lively has faced criticism from all sides. Her reputation has always been shaky, thanks to both reports from colleagues and her behavior in interviews.
Although some fans defend her, there’s a general consensus online that the actress comes off as out of line and even rude. But this isn’t new; it’s been a recurring theme since she first entered the industry, actually.
In 2018, a Michael Kors fashion show saw a mix of celebrities, including Lively, Emily Blunt, and Zendaya. A photo that quickly spread online captured the moment, showing the Dune actress looking uncomfortable while Lively and Blunt laughed. Zendaya’s expression was serious and closed off compared to the other two.
Blunt’s appearance on Vanity Fair‘s famous lie detector test in 2021 shed more light on what might have happened and whether she and Lively were laughing at Zendaya. After seeing the photo and being asked about their reaction, she said:
I think I was worried that she was flashing her v*gina, so it might’ve been something to do with that. Zendaya doesn’t look very happy, though, with our jokes.
She even touched on her friendship level with Lively, clarifying that they weren’t best friends. However, her unexpected mention of Zendaya seemed to fuel the rumors even more.
Zendaya Addressed The Viral Photo
Even before Blunt commented on the viral photo, fans were quick to turn to Zendaya for her side of the story. The actress was pretty straightforward in her response:
She didn’t stop at just tweeting, though. The star also made a point — still in a joking manner — that she wasn’t going to be labeled as mean. She said her attention wasn’t on Lively and Blunt, suggesting that the photo’s angle was misleading.
She also mentioned that, besides focusing on the runway, she was asking her stylist, Law Roach, when the show would start. To reinforce that none of the rumors were true, she added that both actresses were actually nice. (via Cheat Sheet)
It’s not unusual for celebrities to be caught up in rumors, but even though this happens often in Hollywood, this time the internet haters got it wrong. The angle of the photo just wasn’t flattering.
