The first half of Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto follows an interesting streak of adventure with Team 7, which is led by Kakashi. These adventures not only help in developing a bond between Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, and Sasuke but also give them an understanding of what it means to be a shinobi.

However, the beginning of these adventures is marked by a dangerous mission where Team 7 has to escort a bridge builder to the land of waves, and they are met with Zabuza, the Demon of the Hidden Mist, and his loyal follower Haku. As it was their first dangerous mission together, they had a lot of difficulty in completing it.

But many Naruto fans believe that if this mission had been assigned to Team Guy, he and his apprentices, Neji, Tenten, and Rock Lee, would have easily completed it and made it look like a cakewalk. This was because they were stronger than Team 7 at the time.

The First Dangerous Mission of Team 7 in Naruto

When Team 7 started following their graduation from the academy, they were assigned easy low-rank missions, which was not at all liked by Naruto. Thus, he got frustrated and compelled the Third Hokage to assign a dangerous mission to him and his team. This was considered the first official mission of Kakashi’s team.

The mission was to escort the bridge builder Tazuna and his grandson Inari to the land of waves. However, in the middle of the mission, Kakashi and his team found out that Tazuna was being hunted by assassins and needed help. Thus, they decided to save Tazuna and complete their mission irrespective of the danger.

However, the danger soon got out of hand when Zabuza and his follower Haku joined the fight. They proved to be a big hindrance for Team 7, and they barely managed to defeat them. This mission was an eye-opener for Naruto and the rest of the team 7 members as they realized the dangers of being a shinobi.

Team Guy Would Have Easily Won Against Zabuza and Haku

Although escorting the bridge builder mission was the foundation of Team 7, many fans believe that other teams would have completed this mission with much more ease. Among the other teams, the most suitable team for this mission, according to fans, would have been Team Guy, which was composed of Might Guy as the leader with Neji, Tenten, and Lee.

Team Guy was formed a year before the other main Konoha teams, and because of this, they had much more experience than any other team.

Their experience and their might as a team were witnessed by others during the Chunin exams. Thus, it is logical that they would have easily beaten Zabuza and Haku if they had been on the mission.

But if they had been the ones sent on the mission instead of Team 7, the narrative and character development of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura would have changed drastically. This is because it was during this mission that Naruto believed Sasuke to be his friend because he saved him. Also, this mission made Naruto realize that he needed to get stronger, which became a big aspect of the entire series.

Naruto is available to watch on Hulu.
