Who isn’t a fan of Matt LeBlanc and his character Joey Tribbiani’s iconic phrase, “How You Doin’?” Can’t say we don’t get butterflies just thinking about it! Just like the rest of us, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is a huge fan of the actor and couldn’t stop blushing when she sat next to him on The Graham Norton Show.

However, when the two came together for the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards, Matt LeBlanc made an extremely inappropriate comment about Emilia Clarke and her character, Daenerys Targaryen. Needless to say, his comment was not taken in good fun by fans who made sure to hold him accountable on social media.

When the two actors appeared on The Graham Norton Show, it was made pretty clear that Emilia Clarke is a huge fan of both FRIENDS and Matt LeBlanc. Graham Norton teased, “Emilia Clarke loves Matt LeBlanc” to which she simply replied, “Yeah, I think you’re wicked.”

When asked if LeBlanc had seen Game of Thrones, Clarke’s most prominent work yet, he replied,

I watched it the first season, and then I kind of fell out of it, and then I tried to watch it this season and I don’t know what’s going on. There’s so much going on.

He echoed his words at the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards while being interviewed on the red carpet by E! Online. However, he added a questionable comment at the end of his statement which did not sit right with the fans.

When asked if he’s a big Game of Thrones fan, LeBlanc said,

Yeah, I saw the first season, and I kind of fell out of touch with it. I guess that’s when she started getting naked, so I need to catch up.

We all know that Game of Thrones was not afraid to show a few (many) adult scenes here and there throughout its eight seasons. However, commenting about an actress being naked in the show, that too while she’s listening, just seems a bit wrong now, doesn’t it?

After his interview made its way to the public, fans were taken aback by LeBlanc’s words. Social media was filled with people taking a stand against the FRIENDS actor and bashing him for his inappropriate behavior.

While LeBlanc was probably just joking, it didn’t sit right with Clarke’s fans and even though the actress herself didn’t have a reply to his comment, her fans sure had her back.

Take a look at what some of them had to say about it all back in 2016:

Well, it looks like you can take the actor out of the character but you can’t really take the character out of the actor. After all, it was quite difficult to differentiate LeBlanc from Joey at the moment!
