Activision Presents an Action-Packed Trailer for Black Ops 6 at Gamescom 2024

Black Ops 6 at gamescom - “Most Wanted” Campaign Level Playthrough

Since the end of Cold War, players have been left wondering what fate awaits Adler after that game’s bonkers ending. With Black Ops 6, we’ll finally have an answer, and it’s not looking too good for our Mr. Sunglasses-only in the game’s latest trailer.

During the ongoing Gamescom, Activision finally gave us our first look at what we can expect from the campaign in all its action-packed glory. As one would expect, the excitement of the preview is already off the charts.

Although Activision skipped many of the juicy story beats, using what can only be described as a choice inspired by games like Unrecord, we still have to see how the game will be a lot more action-packed than Cold War, featuring a whole host of new toys to play with in the combat sandbox and a lot more set-piece action.

That said, it still begs the question of just how our heroes got into this mess. Now, they are no saints by any stretch of the word, but from what we’ve shown, it seems they’ll need to constantly watch out for their backs in Black Ops 6.

From the trailer, it’s clear that Adler seems to have gotten himself into some nasty business. He is, in all likelihood, locked at a CIA Blacksite, and our new heroes have to break him out of there. Love it or hate it, the Call of Duty franchise never fails to deliver the most outlandish scenarios for its characters.

However, it remains to be seen how this particular narrative point will relate to the game’s larger Gulf War setting and the characters, who we still don’t know much about.

Given some of the loose ties of the previous title, we may just have a direct sequel in our hands—we might also get an answer to what happened to poor old Bell.

Whatever the case may be, this game will undoubtedly be one to remember. Given its importance as a now-Xbox first-party release of sorts on all platforms, the stakes have never been higher, both within the game and in real life.

With that said, what are your thoughts on the latest trailer? Which one are you more excited about – the campaign, the multiplayer, or the zombies? Let us know in the comments below.
