The Journey to the West-inspired game has many creatures and characters from the ancient Chinese epic that the Destined One must face in combat. If you’ve been struggling with the Black Myth Wukong Lingxuzi battle, a few changes to your approach and understanding of his attacks may be all that stand between you and victory.
Black Myth Wukong How to Beat Yaoguai King Lingxuzi
This hulking, furry beast can be found in the Forest of Wolves after defeating or running past the Wandering Wight. Traverse the cave behind this optional boss, follow the path while fighting through some fodder enemies, and you’ll encounter this Black Myth Wukong boss when you reach the temple at the top of a hill.
As you enter the arena, apply your preferred buffs, such as the Evil Repelling Medicament, to boost damage reduction. This boss is very light on its feet and will often enter a rampage and unleash a flurry of attacks. He rarely has a single attack, so always be mindful of a potential follow-up when scouting for punish windows.
Wukong is not generous with its invincibility frames. As with many FromSoftware titles, you’ll want to try dodging the boss to avoid his attacks. Those using performance mode might expect the fight to be more fluid, but many players have been reporting issues, so be mindful of technical hurdles. Keep the pressure on by dodging attacks and going in for some hits at moments such as when he is licking his paws.

The game has been making waves ever since its launch and has quickly climbed the Steam charts to become the most-played single-player game to date. This is a massive feat for a developer’s first AAA title and has set the bar high for future Chinese game developers.
