This hulking, furry beast can be found in the Forest of Wolves after defeating or running past the Wandering Wight. Traverse the cave behind this optional boss, follow the path while fighting through some fodder enemies, and you’ll encounter this Black Myth Wukong boss when you reach the temple at the top of a hill.

As you enter the arena, apply your preferred buffs, such as the Evil Repelling Medicament, to boost damage reduction. This boss is very light on its feet and will often enter a rampage and unleash a flurry of attacks. He rarely has a single attack, so always be mindful of a potential follow-up when scouting for punish windows.

Wukong is not generous with its invincibility frames. As with many FromSoftware titles, you’ll want to try dodging the boss to avoid his attacks. Those using performance mode might expect the fight to be more fluid, but many players have been reporting issues, so be mindful of technical hurdles. Keep the pressure on by dodging attacks and going in for some hits at moments such as when he is licking his paws.

He telegraphs some of his most dangerous attacks, such as the howl or jumping bite slam, so you have time to move away. The jumping bite slam can be punished after he lands on the ground. Avoid getting greedy to deal damage, and make liberal use of Immobilize to either heal or take a breather. Take it slow and easy, using the end of his swipe attack chains to land some hits, and you’ll drop this wolf soon enough.

Many have been enamored with Black Myth Wukong‘s action, saying that the moves and even the protagonist’s demeanor make for some truly epic fights where the player can bully their opponents. Taking down Lingxuzi is only one of the many challenges awaiting players as they progress through the story.

The game has been making waves ever since its launch and has quickly climbed the Steam charts to become the most-played single-player game to date. This is a massive feat for a developer’s first AAA title and has set the bar high for future Chinese game developers.

As people progress through the story, we can expect more Black Myth Wukong guides on how to ace the game and find every collectible. Don’t forget, there are entirely new weapons to craft in New Game+, so the adventure doesn’t stop once the credits roll!
