In the entirety of the Marvel universe, there are multiple superheroes and supervillains, each with a unique ability that sets them at an advantage over the other. One of the most powerful of them all is inevitably Chris Hemsworth’s eternally-loved superhero, Thor, the son of the mighty Odin and the God of Thunder in the fictional superhero verse.

But while the character already exercises tremendous power and mighty abilities, his strength doesn’t seem to be dying down or lessening anytime soon, especially in the comics. This comes after, in the latest issue of The Immortal Thor, the Son of Odin was met with a power-up extreme enough to have landed him with the inexplicable power of both Zeus and Odin.

Thor Now Wields the Power of Both Zeus and Odin!

While Chris Hemsworth‘s character has already proven that he is tied with the cosmic order and shares a unique relationship with the natural world, his powers don’t seem to have any closing line. In the recently released issue #14 of The Immortal Thor, this fact was perfectly proven and given leverage as the Warrior of Asgard got into close combat with Zeus.

In the story, a dark reborn version of Zeus meets Thor and Hercules in a dimension without suns or sunlight, where he brutally berates Odinson, calling him a “petty nothing-god” and throwing thunderbolts at him to demonstrate his superiority. But his attacks are in vain as, at Thor’s mere one command of telling the bolt to “turn”, it does so, saving him from harm’s way.

This continues once again when Zeus claims he has “reached an accord” with Nyx after seeing “a mirror” in her, leading to Nyx asking Zeus to prove his worth, and so does. Or, at least tries to do.

In all fierceness, Zeus commands: “In night’s name, Loki dies–and with the rest of you! The squall-god and my wayward brats! They’ll share the fate of all the worlds and stars–as cinders in my wake!” But the God of Thunder diverts the bolt yet again, saying, “As the storm–even yours–is mine to command. So throw your thunderbolts, mighty Zeus. They will never reach me.”

This leads to Zeus getting mad with rage as he throws thunderbolts, one after the other, but his opponent diverts them all. Only when Zeus says, “Stop flinching! Take it like a god!” does Hercules realize the true meaning of “some trials can’t be avoided forever” and asks Thor to do as Zeus says. So does Thor as he decides to go all in the battle with all his might and endurance.

Driven to the extremes of anger, Zeus decides to summon lightning inside of Thor, leading to everyone doubting the God of Thunder for a moment. But Thor endures it all, saying, “Let loose all thy power, Zeus! Though it sears me to the bone–I open myself to it,” knowing well enough that the battle won’t end until one of them bites the dust.

Taking his blows as fuel for him, Hemsworth’s character goes on to explain: “I spoke earlier that we shared the business of Skyfathers, and the business of Skyfathers is power. The All-Power. You pour yours into me–as if I were not already the vessel for it. You have graciously given so much, Lord of Olympus. Now… give me the rest. I said give me the rest! GIVE ME IT ALL!”

That said, Zeus realizes that his arrogance has led to his defeat, and Thor has finally acquired all his power. This, in turn, proves that Thor’s powers have surpassed even Zeus’, which notably exist on the same level as Odin and Galactus. Plus, since this happens after he previously unlocked the All-Power formerly known as the Odin Force, now Thor exercises the power of both Zeus and Odin all in one.

Fans React to Thor Becoming the Most Powerful He Has Been to Date

Of course, Thor has never been this powerful before, and seeing him channel and exercise such tremendous power that surpasses even the mighty Zeus’ proves that this is the most powerful that Marvel’s God of Thunder has been to date.

That said, fans can’t help but soar in excitement as they share their reactions to this epic turn of events depicted in the latest issue of The Immortal Thor. Taking to X, here’s what they have to say:

Well, so far, writer Al Ewing has allowed Thor’s story to get the most epically twisted and unexpected turn of events, with Chris Hemsworth’s superhero only getting his powers further upgraded with each new issue. And while these exclusively imbued powers on the mighty Asgardian have fans gleaming with excitement, it would be truly interesting to see what lies further in store for him as he goes on to prevent more wheels from turning.
