Despite earning the title of Emperor of the Seas, Oda-sensei hasn’t depicted Luffy as the strongest character yet. After the end of the Wano Arc, our beloved protagonist climbed up the rank to become one of the Four Yonkos (Emperors of the Seas). However, this doesn’t prove that Luffy ranks among the most powerful characters, as he still needs to claim the title of King of the Pirates, surpassing the likes of Shanks, Blackbeard, and even Mihawk.

Although we witnessed a glimpse of Mihawk’s strength back in the Marineford Arc, Eiichiro Oda never showcased his true strength. We know that Zoro will claim the title of the ‘Strongest Swordsman’ by defeating Mihawk at the end of One Piece. However, till then, Mihawk’s strength remains a mystery. Surprisingly, there’s one Yonko who can easily endure Mihawk’s immense Haki attacks, and it’s neither Shanks nor Luffy.

One Piece‘s Buggy the Clown: The Unbeatable Trickster Even Mihawk Can’t Cut Down

Despite being a comedic relief character, Buggy the Clown is arguably Eiichiro Oda‘s most-liked character in the series. Buggy was first introduced in The Orange Town Arc when Luffy and Zoro aimlessly sailed across the sea. Although Luffy and his friends managed to overpower Buggy’s crew, it wasn’t the last time we encountered the iconic clown in the series.

As Luffy continues his journey to become the King of the Pirates, Buggy also archives notable feats and even earned the title of Yonko. Despite being one of the weakest characters in the series, Buggy’s trickery assisted him in becoming one of the most feared pirates in One Piece‘s universe. In Episode 1116, Buggy announced the Cross-Guild’s entry into the race for the One Piece treasure, making all four Yonko contenders.

After the false rumors of Mihawk and Crocodile’s alliance with Buggy, our beloved clown rises as the Fourth Emperor of the Sea. Both Mihawk and Crocodile were feared for their immense strength and the Warlord status. Not to forget, Mihawk was introduced as Shank’s rival, who claimed the title of the Strongest Swordsman after Red-Haired Shanks lost his left arm.

Mihawk’s swordsmanship is extremely versatile, as he can create immensely powerful compressed air slashes. His attacks infused with Haki can destroy gigantic ships and enormous icebergs. Despite being the greatest swordsman, Mihawk’s attacks can’t harm our favorite Buggy the Clown.

Thanks to the Bara Bara no Mi devil fruit powers, Buggy has become immune to any slashing attack. Buggy’s devil fruit power allows him to split his body into various pieces and withstand any powerful slash. Back in the Marineford Arc, the strongest swordsman was left stunned, as his powerful attacks proved useless against Buggy.

Numerous times, Oda-sensei has given Buggy unexpected prominence, leading fans to speculate if he could discover the One Piece treasure before everyone else. Apart from Buggy, there’s another One Piece character who can give Mihawk, Shanks, and Zoro a taste of their own medicine, thanks to his Devil Fruit.

The One Piece Character with the Ultimate Defense: Even Shanks and Mihawk Can’t Cut

Dressrosa Arc, which many fans cite as their favorite OP arc, featured tons of memorable scenes that kept fans anticipating. From Luffy’s Gear 4 to God Usopp, Dressrosa Arc captivated several fans to the series and continued the momentum after the time skip. Interestingly, Oda introduced one of the strongest characters during this fan-favorite arc, which many fans overlooked because of his comedic personality.

Genius Oda introduced Bartolomeo as the biggest Luffy fan, portraying many OP fans’ emotions in the series. Bartolomeo’s devil fruit is The Bari Bari no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to generate barriers.

Interestingly, Kozuki Oden, who was the strongest swordsman during the Gol D. Roger Pirate King’s era, wasn’t able to slash through the barrier of the previous Bari Bari no Mi user. This places Bartolomeo alongside Buggy the Clown as one of the few who can withstand the attacks of the strongest swordsmen in One Piece.
