As an ARPG, Black Myth Wukong allows the player flexibility in how they would like to equip their character and deal with challenges. One of the key characteristics of these games is that you can upgrade your character’s gear using the resources you find in the open world.

Many titles will afford you only a limited amount of resources, which you can use in each playthrough. This locks you into your decisions, and it stops you from being able to use anything and everything at your disposal. One such resource in Wukong can help you take your gameplay to the next level.

There are several Black Myth Wukong armor sets the player can use, and each offers a unique benefit against specific elements and attacks. Mixing and matching different sets of armor can offer specific benefits and also look cool, but equipping enough armor from the same set will grant the player a defensive bonus. So it makes sense to craft cohesive armor pieces as much as possible, even if they might look a bit off in the game’s Performance Mode.

Silk will be needed for all your armor-crafting desires and can be acquired in three different ways. The first is to find it in chests, and this method usually nets you quite a bit for a single draw. It can be purchased from the store, but this means dividing your purchasing resources. Lastly, it can be farmed from enemies, especially those found in Chapter 2.

One in every four of the basic rats will yield you some Silk upon defeating them. Larger enemies could drop Silk, but they are more likely to drop the resources required to upgrade your weapon. So, it’s ideal to stick to the smaller enemies, as they will respawn when you rest as well.

The good thing about acquiring Silk is that it has only two uses in the game: to be sold for Will or to be used to craft and upgrade armor. Will is easy enough to come by in the game, so selling a resource you spent quite a bit of time farming is not the ideal usage of Silk. On reaching new areas and beating specific bosses, you’ll be given the option to craft new armor at Shrines.

If it wasn’t already clear enough, the Journey to the West inspiration of the game is one of the many reasons Silk is so highly regarded and also difficult to come by in the game. Any armor you unlock will grant you all the pieces, giving you a breakdown of the benefits offered by the different pieces and the set bonus too. Every armor is going to require Silk, and no refunds are allowed, so make sure you are hoarding this resource as much as possible.

When the title was first announced back in 2020, many players were curious about a monkey swinging a massive staff. Every year that went by, people expected some news until we finally got the full release on August 20, exactly four years since launch. It was worth the wait for Game Science, as the title has climbed the charts and become the most-played single-player game of all time on Steam.

It’s no surprise, given that the game allows the player to feel like a one-monkey army with a staff. The Destined One can move fluidly, and his arsenal of skills, such as Immobilize, can help trivialize even tough bosses. It’s the perfect game to pick up if you want to feel like you’re bullying the opponents in some ways, despite the glitches and bugs being reported.

Xbox players are going to have to wait before they can get their hands on this title, as it is currently only available on the PlayStation 5 and the PC. It was first expected to launch on all platforms at the same time, but the launch on Microsoft’s console has now been delayed indefinitely.
