Zoe Saldana, in recent years, has graduated to become one of the biggest female stars in Hollywood. From Star Trek, to James Cameron’s Avatar, to her work in the MCU, Saldana has undoubtedly dipped her toe in some of the biggest franchises, which means that fans are bound to track each and every move of the actress.
That, obviously, perhaps unfortunately, also includes her relationship status and history. And while the 46-year-old is now happily married to Marco Perego Saldana, there was a time when she had been linked to a fellow MCU star, with whom she has also worked in a 2012 film.
That is none other than Bradley Cooper, who played the epic role of the Raccoon, Rocket, in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Perhaps it is fitting that the aggressive, green-faced alien that is Gamora found fleeting love in Bradley Cooper, who played the polar opposite character of Rocket, the raccoon. Their past relationship meant that working on the same move was not the only thing they had in common. Back in 2012, the two co-starred for the first time opposite each other in the romantic thriller The Words.
Boasting of incredible on-screen chemistry, it seems as if the same might have seeped off-screen as well. Cooper, who has been linked during his time with some of the most beautiful women in the world including Jennifer Lopez, Gigi Hadid, and Irina Shayk, also had a brief fling with Zoe Saldana, something which the two never officially confirmed.
However, the then-couple was spotted on multiple public dates, and was even seen kissing at a cocktail party during the Sundance Film Festival.
And while the couple would surely have been a pretty sight for the eyes, their romance did not last long. The two were reported to be on and off for months, and speculation stated that the fling had come to an end by the end of the year.

While Saldana eventually found love and even shares three children with Marco Perego, it came after an awkward breakup with Bradley Cooper. The relationship itself had concluded by the time filming for The Words finished, which meant that despite the ice between them, the two still had to promote their upcoming film.
This meant that the two continued to show up at red carpet events together, and were involved in a range of marketing campaigns for the movie despite the tension between them. This awkwardness, while not evident for the fans, is just another example of the lengths actors sometimes have to go to, in order to do their jobs.
Of course, as for Saldana, she was quick to move on, and married Marco Perego in 2013. The couple’s three kids are called Zen, Cy, and Bowie. On the other hand, Bradley Cooper was also quick to move on, and was revealed to be in a serious relationship with Irina Shayk, one which ended only in 2019.
