Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar are back again at the One Piece set in this video marking the start of production of the second season. During an interview with Deadline, Becky Clements, the President of Tomorrow Studios, shared that between 900 and 1200 people were working on the series, with two units working at one time.

Clements shared that the current season is more VFX-heavy than the last one and, hence, will take some time to complete production. She added that they would finish filming in December this year. When asked about the addition of new characters like Smoker, Brogy, No. 5, No. 9, and No. 3, Clements shared that showrunners Matt Owens and Joe Tracz have it all mapped out with Eiichiro Oda.

She also confirmed that the makers have plans for multiple seasons. Clements also gave the update that Jamie Lee Curtis, who was rumored for a long time to join the series, was not involved in this season of the show.
