One of these games was Retrieval, which presented its first trailer at yesterday’s Future Game Show. One of the most notable aspects of this title is its impressive graphic quality and its resemblance to games like The Callisto Protocol.

A Spanish studio based in Barcelona is developing this game, and it’s intriguing to note that this studio boasts talent who previously worked at Naughty Dog.

The trailer, which primarily showcased the graphics engine’s functionality rather than gameplay, depicted the protagonist evading an undisclosed threat. This studio offers a rather intriguing proposal. The game will take place on a distant planet.

Players will take on the role of Hana Loshe, a commander who must survive in a completely devastated world with some retro-futuristic touches. The idea behind Retrieval is to create a perfect setting for players to feel fully immersed in the game experience.

Obviously, the protagonist will be armed, but it is still unknown what the general gameplay will be like. The description states that the game will take place in a particular base, making exploration a key aspect.

The game will take place on Ryhalian, a distant planet, immersing players in a narrative that explores the story and characters to foster a deeper connection with them.

One of the game’s features is that it will use the full power of Nvidia and Unreal Engine 5 to deliver the best possible photorealism, resulting in a spectacular and extraordinary horror experience. According to the cinematic, it may be a first or third-person camera.

The game doesn’t yet have a release date, but it will initially be available on PC, where users can already add it to their wishlists, and on PS5. The developer has confirmed the Xbox release of the game.

Games like Dead Space continue to inspire experiences like this, building on the outstanding work achieved in its time. Thanks to current graphical tools, horror is about to reach a new level.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
