Reflecting back on these instances from the 12-season-long show, fans point out the moments for which they felt Cooper should’ve faced some consequences.

The Moments When Fans Felt Sheldon Cooper Crossed the Line

It’s not hard to see why some of Sheldon’s shenanigans can get on some fans’ nerves. Taking to Reddit, fans recounted such instances from the show, with one fan stressing that “he should’ve been slapped hard” for putting bugs into Leonard’s food. In episode 6 of season 4, Sheldon served Leonard a snow cone with a Mango caterpillar. Later in that episode, it was revealed that he was grinding up insects and mixing them with Leonard’s food, and when confronted about it, the physicist said it was for science.

But this was far from the only time for which fans felt he should’ve faced some repercussions, with one instance being him losing Bitcoin data from Leonard’s laptop. Another moment that irked fans was when he rented his old room to Theodore to spite Leonard and one user recalled the moment when he threatened to blow up Priya and Leonard’s relationship for a new roommate agreement.

Offscreen, Jim Parsons doesn’t exactly resemble many of Sheldon’s character traits, as during an interview, the actor revealed he isn’t book smart like his TBBT counterpart, stating “I’m not stupid. But I’m no genius”.

Moreover, while Sheldon is notable for his love for pop culture, the actor revealed he never watched Star Trek and Doctor Who, which Cooper is a big fan of in the show.

I get asked a lot of, of course, science things. I’m like, ‘You’re kidding.’ And even the pop culture. … I’ve never seen Star Trek. I don’t know Doctor Who.

Although there have been many moments when Sheldon’s actions rubbed fans the wrong way, the character does have his fair share of redeeming moments. Even though he has proven to be an infuriating roommate, one can’t deny his love for Leonard, as he stood up for his friend on several occasions, one of which was during the latter’s confrontation with Kurt.

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Max.
