Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, Starfield, is quickly approaching the one-year mark since its release last Fall. As the studio’s first brand-new IP in years, the game saw a lot of mixed reception, with players heavily bashing Bethesda’s design choices and lack of any meaningful innovations.

However, the title’s take of a NASA-punk-inspired future and the sheer number of locations to discover brought an engaging experience for many players. Bethesda is continuously trying to make the game better, and with the upcoming Starfield Shattered Space DLC, it seems like they’ve finally cracked the code.

At Gamescom 2024, Starfield players got a major glimpse into the upcoming Shattered Space DLC, with a trailer showing off some of the atmospheres and themes players can expect.

Bethesda’s early previews for the upcoming DLC have certainly sparked hopes among the community, as the studio is going back to its roots and featuring many things players expected at launch.

Space can be a lot of things, inspiring, beautiful, and full of hope for mankind’s future. But it can also prove to be a setting for some truly-spine chilling horror, and that’s what Starfield Shattered Space DLC will focus on.

The studio has carefully crafted the planet on which the entire story will take place and it will bring a more tense atmosphere.

The DLC will bring new weapons, equipment, and items and will be heavily combat-intensive. All these additions have certainly got gamers on board the hype train.

There’s no doubt that the title has plenty of room to grow, and it can do so through such DLCs. These expansions should expand upon the example set by Shattered Space and lean towards exploring new things in the game’s universe.

When is the Shattered Space DLC Coming Out?

Earlier this summer, Bethesda revealed that Shattered Space DLC would be coming to the Sci-Fi RPG on an undetermined date this Fall. Since then, gamers have continued to wait for the DLC, wondering when it will arrive in that window. Now, we finally have an answer, and it’s less than a month away!

Revealed in a brand-new trailer that debuted at Gamescom, the Shattered Space DLC will be released on September 30th. The expansion will go live for both Xbox and PC players at the same time.

It’s worth keeping in mind that while the base game is available to play through Game Pass, it won’t be the same for the Shattered Space DLC. Also, those who purchased the Starfield Premium Edition upgrade will be able to play Shattered Space at launch.

Individual pricing for the DLC is currently unavailable, but fans can expect such details to be revealed in the weeks leading up to the expansion’s debut.
