The varied personalities in Jujutsu Kaisen featured all kinds of characteristics, from kind and understanding to dreaded and depressing. These characters have enhanced the narrative of the series and helped it become one of the best anime and manga series in the dark shonen genre. While almost every character has a fanbase of their own, there is one character that is hated by every Jujutsu Kaisen fan.

This character is none other than Yorozu, the jujutsu sorcerer from Aizu during the Heian Era who was obsessed with Sukuna. Yorozu might not be the worst-written character, but she definitely is one of the worst characters because of how she changed the dynamic of Megumi and his sister’s special relationship.

Ever since Gege Akutami introduced Yorozu, fans have hated them for not only ruining the relationship between Megumi and Tsumiki but also Tsumiki’s character as a whole. Tsumiki’s character had a lot of potential, but transitioning her into Yorozu’s incarnation hurt her individual character development.

Tsumiki Fushiguro’s Unexplored Character in Jujutsu Kaisen

As mentioned above, Tsumiki was Megumi’s sister who was cursed and fell into a coma. Megumi and Tsumiki went through a lot together, with their parents disappearing and bullies from their high school. However, Tsumiki’s character was left unexplored because of her coma.

Even Akutami regretted not giving enough character development to Tsumiki. During the Jujutsu Kaisen art exhibition in Japan, they confessed to the fact that they could have done more with Tsumiki’s character.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga creator stated:

In terms of what makes up the core of these two, there just wasn’t enough information to flesh out Tsumiki’s background, so I think that was a total failure. This is one part where I feel like it was a huge mistake. I should have had Itadori and Tsumiki have a proper meeting just once.

The bond between Tsumiki and Megumi was a unique one, as most of Megumi’s endeavors as a Jujutsu sorcerer were motivated by his need to save his sister from the curse. He truly cared for her and wanted to spend more time with her once she came out of the coma, but couldn’t do so.

Yorozu’s Reincarnation into Tsumiki Was Not Liked By Jujutsu Kaisen Fans

While Tsumiki’s character was left unexplored, Gege Akutami did manage to make a role for her in Jujutsu Kaisen by reintroducing her as Yorozu. Yorozu was a self-assertive, selfish woman who didn’t care about anything other than herself and her love for the King of Curses, which she wanted to show by killing him.

Although Yorozu’s character was brilliantly written in terms of her character development and her innate techniques, she ruined Tsumiki for Megumi and for Jujutsu Kaisen fans.

In the past, she was killed by Sukuna, and even during the Culling Games arc, the King of Curses was the one who struck her down.

However, her end during the Culling Games arc also meant the death of Tsumiki. While Yorozu got a deserving ending, Tsumiki’s death felt empty to many Jujutsu Kaisen fans who were hoping for some kind of development for her.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
