Ever since the Wano arc has ended, the era of the new Emperor of the Seas has started in One Piece. This new era has seen the rise of Monkey D. Luffy, Mashall D. Teach (Blackbeard), and Buggy to the point where they are considered the strongest and most dangerous pirates ever. Even the Navy and the World Government think twice before facing them.
However, before these new Emperors rose to fame in the pirate world, they were just simple pirates, and there was only one character in the entire series who was able to take them down single-handedly. This character was none other than Magellan, the current vice warden and the former chief warden of Impel Down.
Magellan was one of the strongest characters One Piece fans have ever seen. He made his first appearance during the Impel Down Arc of the Summit War Saga, and his Devil Fruit had one of the most unique abilities. However, it also had a sickening weakness that affected his fighting capabilities a lot.
Magellan Took Down All Three Yonkos At Once
When Magellan’s character was introduced in One Piece, he looked like a comedic character, giving the impression that he was not strong enough. However, when the situation at Impel Down got worse, he stepped in and proved why he was the Chief Warden of the prison.
Luffy’s intention for getting into the Impel Down prison was to save his brother Ace, and he was ready to take down anyone who would come in front of him. But even he was not ready for Magellan. Magellan was able to take down Luffy on the first attempt very easily, to the point that he almost died.
In the case of Blackbeard and Buggy, Magellan didn’t even have to use his full force. Buggy was already captured by Vice Warden Hannybal. And when Magellan came across Blackbeard and his crew, he took them all down with a single move called Hydra. Thus, he is the only person in the entire One Piece who faced all three new Emperors in the past and took them down.
Magellan’s Dangerous Devil Fruit And Its Disgusting Weakness
As One Piece fans know, Magellan had the ability to produce and control poison. He ate the Doku Doku no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit and is considered one of the most dangerous powers in the One Piece world. He can control and produce different varieties of poison, which makes him lethal.
The poisons used by Magellan in accordance with his Devil Fruits are so dangerous that creating an antidote to tackle their effects is next to impossible. Many One Piece fans think that his Devil Fruit makes him capable of standing alongside the Admirals in terms of strength and power.
However, the biggest weakness of the Devil Fruit’s power is that it causes severe diarrhea. Magellan needs to consume poison to keep the strength of his Devil Fruit, but processing the poison is a difficult task and thus affects his bowel movements. This is why he spends ten hours a day each day in the bathroom.
