Deadpool & Wolverine practically put a waning franchise back on the map, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film ever. This film not only cemented Marvel as a lucrative player in the R-rated film space but also brought in the most Marvel Legacy cameos that audiences have seen in the MCU.

Among them, Channing Tatum’s Gambit stood out as the MVP, especially given that all his peers at the end of time came from defunct Marvel franchises outside of the MCU. Channing Tatum was not able to get his Gambit film off the ground but received a cameo anyway. Now, Ryan Reynolds has released new footage that has reignited rumors of another film.

Deadpool & Wolverine had extended cameos from a slew of Marvel projects from before the MCU, such as Tim Story’s Fantastic Four, Fox’s Daredevil and Elektra, and New Line’s Blade trilogy. This has caused a lot of fans to wonder if Ryan Reynolds has the leverage to convince Disney to let characters like Blade and Gambit have at least huzzah before they are all coalesced into the MCU. This has picked up steam thanks to some new footage that Ryan Reynolds shared on his X account.

Audiences know that all of The Others at the end of time survived in the wake of their assault on Cassandra Nova’s stronghold, which would indicate that Channing Tatum could appear as Gambit one more time. Fans, thanks to Reynolds’ interest in doing solo films for The Other, think this might be a tease for what’s to come for the character vis a vis a solo film.

As unlikely as it is, a third Fantastic Four film would be awesome

The third Fantastic Four film was going to have a third outing that was reportedly going to blow their worldwide open. Jessica Alba, who played Sue Storm, was keen on introducing Franklin Richards, Reed, and Sue’s omnipotent firstborn. Djimon Honsou was also rumored to appear as Black Panther.

There was also a scrapped Fantastic Four vs X-Men film that was supposed to do the plot of Secret Wars, leading into a Secret Invasion storyline. However, this was scrapped in favor of a reboot that eventually ended up being Fant4stic.

While the MCU will be going forward with its version of the Fantastic Four with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Secret Wars could give audiences a peek into where Fox’s Fantastic Four are since the events of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Perhaps Ioan Gruffudd’s Redd Richards can appear as a part of a Council of Reeds, which could also feature Miles Teller, John Krasinski, and of course, Pedro Pascal
