“Is there a reason Hakari doesn’t spam this in Jackpot?”: Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Know the Critical Flaw Gege Akutami Gave Hakari’s Most Broken Cursed Technique

Hakari and Uraume's fight has been going on for too long. Given Hakari's great powers, Akutami uses one flaw repeatedly to weaken him in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Hakari and Jujutsu Kaisen

SUMMARY

  • Whenever Hakari activates his Domain Expansion, he has an infinite flow of cursed energy.
  • The enormous amounts of cursed energy enables him to automatically use reversed cursed technique to heal himself, making him immortal.
  • With powers these strong, Gege Akutami had no other option than weakening him through the burnout which isn't explained properly.

One thing Gege Akutami has done phenomenally is creating great characters. From the character designs to their powers, Jujutsu Kaisen characters are either the embodiment of charm or madness. And when these characters fight, the result is either quick death or an endless brawl. One such battle is the ongoing tussle between Uraume and Hakari, which is no surprise given Hakari’s overpowered ability.

Hakari’s ability has no flaws which makes the resolution of fights that involve him quite difficult. Seemingly, Akutami realized it too as they used a different way to sideline Hakari.

To start off, Hakari activates his domain expansion after he hits the Jackpot in Pachinko. It grants him immortality for a period of 4 minutes and 11 seconds. During that period, he has an unlimited flow of energy in his body. Without knowing how to perform the Reverse Cursed Technique, Hakari is able to use it because of the high levels of cursed energy. The Reverse Cursed Technique ensures that he is physically fine. It’s impossible for anyone but the strongest to defeat him while his domain is activated.

Before his domain is activated, he experiences a burnout, which lasts for as long as his domain is there (4 minutes 11 seconds). When his domain expansion ends, his cursed technique gets restored allowing him to instantly activate another domain. So basically, he doesn’t have any weaknesses except for the burnout and the low chances of hitting a Jackpot. It’s not certain how much the burnout limits him but it affects his cursed technique. Besides that, it’s known that as a professional gambler, Hakari cheats to hit the Jackpot continuously.

The Unfortunate Fight between Uraume and Hakari

The last we saw of Hakari in Jujutsu Kaisen was during his fight with Uraume. Even when Hakari understood that he can’t win against Kashimo, he was able to survive the fight with his quick wit and the Binding Vow. That makes one realize exactly how strong he truly is. So that inevitably makes one question why Hakari is not using spam in Jackpot against Uraume.

We have only seen glimpses of their fights and there’s no clarity if it’s over or not. Unless it’s over, there’s no way to tell if Hakari actually has any weaknesses that aren’t canceled out by his own abilities. The burnout is probably weighing him down as well. The purpose of their match-up was to stall Uraume so the rest can focus on fighting Sukuna solely.

Keeping that in mind, Hakari will likely continue the fight for as long as he can. Unless he’s completely sure that Sukuna has been defeated, he won’t stop. With only 5 chapters left, we’ll probably not get any explanation regarding Hakari’s defeat if it happens, except for his one weakness, the burnout. Keeping him offscreen seems easier for Gege Akutami than thinking of a way to defeat him, unless it’s Sukuna himself that kills him, which we know is no longer possible. And the burnout is the other and disappointing way out.
