The anticipation following Imu, the final antagonist of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus, has been increasing with each passing day. The fans of the series have been coming up with intriguing fan theories following the Supreme Leader of the World Government, who is believed to command the Ancient Weapon that once annihilated the Lulusia Kingdom.
The character was first introduced in Vol. 90, Chapter 906 (p. 16–17), and Episode 885, respectively, of the manga and anime. However, even after so many years, Oda-Sensei has not revealed much of the antagonist. Not only he has kept the physical appearance a mystery but also kept their abilities a mystery to the fans.
While it is speculated that the ruler is female, another intriguing theory following The Creator has popped up. The theory is lingering on the internet, where it is rumored that they might have a strong similarity with one of Kaido’s abilities.
Imu Might Have an Eye-Catching Similarity With Kaido
Eiichiro Oda has sent shockwaves in the anime and manga industry, where Imu, the mysterious ruler of the Empty Throne was first introduced in One Piece. Despite not knowing much about the character, the fans are thrilled to witness the revelation of where it is believed the figure is a female as the author might have played a clever trick.
The character sits on top of the world, where he has the power to influence global outcomes, and is the sole reason that is wrong with the One Piece world. With the ruler continuing to pull the string from the shadows, a new theory has surfaced, where she might be having a huge similarity with Kaido, the Strongest Creature.
According to Zhoniin, a One Piece creator on YouTube, shared a video discussing the true form of Imu, where the creator was reacting to a video by Dawn & Dusk. The YouTuber shared that the true form of the ruler, whether it stemmed from a Devil Fruit or “some kind of other stuff that Imu and the Gorosei are doing,”
They emphasized that there’s a possibility that the ruler can be possibly a Yokai, or “like a demonic type of dragon.” The creator further added that the creature would resemble the one that fans of the show had previously witnessed in the Punk Hazard arc.
They reinforced this notion because in one of the chapters when Sabo used the ability of his Mera Mera no Mi, the ruler ate it, where the mouth of the ruler resembled closely to the dragon in the Punk Hazard Arc. However, that’s not all because the creator said how the word “dragon” has been thrown around so much that they believe the character has to end up being a dragon.
Sadly, they are not sure about what depiction of the dragon it would be because Oda-Sensei has showcased the “Western one with the wings” and the “Eastern one, the serpent type that doesn’t have wings” depiction of the mythological figure.
Syv, another creator present in the video, shared that they were excited as they are looking forward to seeing what Oda-Sensei has in store for them because, in the filler arc, he showcased another Western Dragon that is called a “millenium dragon” that has “immense power.”
Nevertheless, they emphasized how Celestial Dragons have “Dragons” in their name for some reason. Hence, it made sense to them, as they believe that one way or the other Luffy might be fighting a dragon.
Fans React To The Real Identity of The Theory of Imu Being a Dragon
Zhoniin’s theory sounded pretty convincing to the fans, as they not only stated their theory but also gave various instances from the show and the manga to make their theory convincing to the fans.
