After the Marineford Arc, Luffy tries to come to terms with Ace’s death by remembering his childhood with Ace and a young boy named Sabo. In one of those episodes, Toei Animation featured a character named Naguri who was portrayed as an elderly man with long, grey, unkempt hair that goes down to his shoulders.

The only time viewers witnessed Naguri’s furious eyes was when he showcased his Conqueror Haki to rescue Luffy, Ace, and Sabo from a terrifying bear. Although some fans dispute Naguri’s Conqueror Haki claims, it must be considered that Luffy nostalgically recalls Shanks’ iconic Haki moment after witnessing the old man’s terrifying power against the bear, which lends credence to the claims of his Haki.
