Competitive players will face a new learning curve with the omnidirectional movement allowing them to dive, evade enemy fire, and maintain an offensive position. The game developers held an open beta test for a select few players and they are already struggling to fight against other skilled players with omnimovement.

Activision entrusted this year’s entry to Raven Software and Treyarch, both gaming studios have enough experience to deliver something new and fresh for the franchise. The gaming community is enthusiastic about seeing this year’s installment. The developers are already doing great regarding content like reusing an iconic map like Nuke Town and adding a little sand for Black Ops 6.

Map changes and gameplay improvements are the content that would earn the game developers some goodwill from the player base. However, sometimes developers could go overboard to impress the player base to a point where not everyone is having fun and feels stressed about keeping up to avoid being picked on in multiplayer matches and discouraging them from playing further.

Some players are already anticipating the developers to tie new challenges with this new and advanced movement system which could become a hassle for a casual player. Players will have to exert more effort than usual to finesse enemy players in competitive matches, especially for those who try hard to level up quickly in ranked mode.

The game developers knew there would be some skepticism within the gaming community as they questioned if the game could even handle an ambitious game mechanic. The team addressed the potential problems the player base may encounter at launch from a technical standpoint and the open beta quashed all the doubt about its smooth function.

The game developers aspire to push the technical limitations and boundaries to provide players with all the advantages they need in a fight. Hopefully, this new advanced movement system will be improved upon by other game developers in future projects with similar gameplay.

Players will have to fight harder to survive in competitive matches moving forward. Omnimovement will encourage players to be much more attentive and vigilant of their surroundings and be creative in a heated firefight.

Treyarch and Raven Software wanted to elevate the Call of Duty franchise further, and are limited to the gameplay mechanics introduced decades ago. The best way to implement it is by adding something much more ambitious and risky.

Hopefully, players will learn to love omnimovement before lashing out at the developers. Black Ops 6 will push the community harder than they ever did before.
