When the character made his first appearance, right after the Marineford Arc, the narrator mentioned that he single-handedly defeated the Four Emperors and the Marines at the same time.
The narrator further also stated, “On land, sea, and air, among all living things. He is a pirate who is known as the ‘strongest creature.'” However, this was not always the case because, back in the day, there were seven names that had tamed the beast. In chapter 795, it was mentioned that the Yonko tasted defeat seven times.
Well, fans do not have to scratch their heads because a renowned creator (@YonkoHaki) has shared the six names that have contended and emerged as the victors in their fight.
6) Rocks D. Xebec
The first name that the creator mentioned was Rocks D. Xebec, where a young Kaido was a part of his crew, and back in the day, he was a weak pirate without any Devil Fruit.
Since he was a rookie and his former captain was one of the strongest names in the world, he might have battled him to learn his level and the difference in their skill.
5) Edward Newgate
The second name was Edward Newgate, popularly known as Whitebeard, where the creator stated that when the Yonko was in his prime, the Captain of the Beast Pirates “was like a fish, and could’ve been easily defeated by Whitebeard.”
4) Gol D. Roger
The third name was none other than Gol D. Roger, and the creator recalled the event at the God Valley, where they emphasized that it might be possible that the King of the Pirates would have faced the Soldier and sent him flying just like he did when he first faced Kozuki Oden of the Whitebeard Pirates.
3) Monkey D. Garp
The fourth would be either Monkey D. Garp or Sengoku, as it was mentioned that he was captured 18 times. Since it was long ago, there’s a high probability of either of the two Marines not only facing the pirate but also bringing him to his knees.

Even though it has never been mentioned that Sengoku has fought the Captain of the Beast Pirates, assuming that the Yonko had challenged the Marine and was arrested 18 times. Though much has not been shared about their fight, being on bad terms with Big Mom and Kaido might be a result of their battle in the past.

The Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates is the newest honorary to be a part of this list; he not only defeated the Strongest Creature in his home, Onigashima, but also liberated the country of Wano from his malicious clutches.
