Formerly known as Project A.I.D.A, the upcoming horror survival horror video game, A.I.L.A, being developed by Pulsatrix Studios and published by Fireshine Games, has captured the attention of horror games during the Gamescom 2024 pre-show.

The trailer showed some delicate horror scenes highlighting the psychological tension as the lines blur between virtual reality and a terrifying digital world. While the game doesn’t have a release date set, an early 2025 release was teased in the trailer and fans can’t wait. 

A.I.L.A is the Latest Take on Survival Horror Genre

A.I.L.A is played from the first person, making the survival horror a bit more real. Set in a near future where advanced technology is in central focus, players will assume the role of a beta tester, tasked with creating and testing horror scenarios within a fictional AI-driven game environment.

The game name is derived from this artificial intelligence that is designed to exploit player’s deepest fears.

The trailer revealed just a glimpse of unpredictable horrors that await the players, as eerie soundtracks, disturbing pictures, and mutated enemies lurk in areas that change in the blink of an eye. 

All of this has fans hyped up for more of the same as AILA is not another zombie horror video game. With a unique take on psychological horror, the end of the trailer only heated things as the protagonist takes off the VR helmet but the horrors have followed him into the real world.

Players Want to See More of the Game

The trailer shown at Gamescom lasted only just over a minute, but it was just enough to get players hooked. Many players have come forward to express how great the game will be. 

Built in Unreal Engine 5, A.I.L.A features stunning graphics, and the horrors will remain chiseled in the minds of those brave enough to take on this psychological survival horror.

One player, in particular, has said that A.I.L.A is just right up his alley and that he can’t wait to see more of the game.

Another player added to this by saying that A.I.L.A truly looks great. 

The ultimate goal is to discover what lies behind this dystopian mixed world as the AI blends the real and digital worlds. 

While more information on the game remains scarce, it is important to note that the studio behind this survival horror is the same one that brought to life Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel, one of the best Brazilian games of 2022.

Nevertheless, with the successful showcase at Gamescom 2024, A.I.L.A hype will certainly last until the release date, whenever happens. While the studio aims for an early 2025 release, these details are yet to be confirmed.
