The art of selling what’s happening on screen as real is something that the finest of stars can accomplish in front of the camera, and bringing raw emotions into those performances is an even harder challenge to take on. How Shia LaBeouf Came To Blows With Tom Hardy On The Sets Of Lawless
Sometimes, when giving it your all, it becomes a little hard to keep yourself in check, which leads to unwanted outcomes. This is also true for acting as the determination to sell the audience the story they’re telling on screen often pushes their emotions over the edge, which may result in a dire situation. This was an incident that took place on the sets of the 2012 crime/drama film Lawless where actor Shia LaBeouf came to a real fistfight with his co-star Tom Hardy.

In a past interview, the Transformers star talked about his experiences working on the film when he also talked about the infamous scuffle that became widespread around the time of the film’s release. He clarified that the fight wasn’t caused due to Moonshine consumption on set, but rather due to the aggression that they both had to bring in their characters that carried them away a little too much. He also clarified that he possesses nothing but respect for his co-star. While talking with MTV News, LaBeouf said:
“That wasn’t moonshine-related at all, That was straight love. There was a lot of love on that set in general. There was a lot of aggression in me and a lot of aggression on [Hardy’s] side. We were playing brothers. There was a constant finger-in-the-ear [teasing] thing going on for a while.”
While they had to be restrained on set due to that incident, the end result of them bringing that raw aggression and working together did wonders for the film.

What Was Lawless About?
Set during the time of The Great Prohibition of the 1930s, in Franklin County, Virginia, there is a band of three brothers who run a bootlegging business behind their image as a multipurpose business in the backwoods. The business is running successfully and smoothly thanks to all the bribes that they give the local police officers, but problems come knocking on their doorstep soon enough.
When a stuck-up yet brutal cop from Chicago shows up in their area and decides to shut them and their operation down for good, these brothers have to pick up arms and go on an all-out war with the authorities.
