Celebrities’ love life often garners much public interest. While some are instantly able to find the love of their lives, others often have to struggle a bit before achieving the same.
But when it comes to Drew Barrymore, she has been lacking a bit in the romantic love department. Although she has received much love and support from family and fans, enjoying a healthy romantic relationship is something she has gotten only temporarily.

Drew Barrymore has a lot of experience when it comes to romantic relationships. Having split up with her third ex-husband, Will Kopelman in 2016, she has been publicly single ever since. While she has bluntly voiced against getting married once again, she is still open to love.

Back in 2020, she called herself a ‘hopeless romantic’ as she talked about exploring relationships. She told PEOPLE

“I am a hopeless romantic, and everybody on this planet needs love in some form. And we are constantly contending with relationships. Love and those relationships may look differently for people. But it’s there at its core. So, I can’t help but want to explore and examine that.”

However, her luck hadn’t worked in her favor as she once talked about getting ghosted by many when she tried online dating. Giving a glimpse of what was happening in her love life, she continued,

“I’ve tried it. I went on a couple of dates. A lot of people totally ghosted me. And one time I was waiting to go on a date, and at the time we were supposed to meet he just wrote, ‘Yeah, I can’t.’ But I’d rather hang out with my friends.”

While dating is surely a challenging thing for everyone, be it high-profile celebrities, it is quite ironic since she once ghosted Christian Bale after going on a date with him.

Quite a surprising turn of events as The Dark Knight actor admitted going on a date with the Charlie’s Angels star but their relationship was likely not meant to be. The actor claimed that Drew Barrymore put an end to his courtship as he told GQ Australia

“We went to see some bloody awful horror film, and that was the end of it. She never called again.”

The Mad Love actress in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen unveiled the reason, sharing she was uninterested in boys at that time.

“I had a lot of fish to fry, like I had big problems in my world for many years, like in good ways — things you gotta overcome . . . boys were like very secondary.”

She had nothing but positive words for her only date with Bale whom she would “totally clam up” had she met him in her later years. Despite being heartbroken at the time, he later found his better half, Sandra “Sibi” Blažić, a former model, whom he’s been married to since 2000. The couple shares a daughter and a son.
