Yellowstone star Ian Bohen has some big claims about the Paramount+ series’ final few episodes, despite potentially losing lead star Kevin Costner. The second part of the fifth and final season has yet to begin filming, with Bohen suggesting that filming will start in May. Bohen claimed that he was told the rough outlines of the final episodes. According to Bohen, Yellowstone fans are going to get one of the best finale seasons that could possibly be written.
Bohen’s big claims come at a time when the show is riddled with uncertainties and behind-the-scenes issues. Fans were almost expecting a disastrous final season like Game of Thrones or Lost, but the Teen Wolf actor has just raised everyone’s hopes.
Yellowstone Star Is (Over) Confident That The Series Will Finish Strongly
Ian Bohen played Ryan, a cowboy wrangler, in the series and was promoted to the main cast starting in Season 4. Bohen is not ready to give up on his show yet, despite the modern Western drama losing its lead actor Kevin Costner over petty ego issues. Bohen, who still regards the Yellowstone brand with utmost pride and respect, talked about it during his appearance at Stagecoach.
Interestingly, the series popped up at the festival that celebrates the country music craze. Bohen shared with Entertainment Tonight that the Taylor Sheridan series would be completed in a way that would make sense. He recalled other famous series that failed to satisfy their fans with a good ending. However, Bohen shared that Yellowstone was going to get the best conclusion ever for a series. He told ET:
“The fans are going to get the [best] conclusion that could possibly be written. Everything will land in a way that is perfectly set. A lot of shows just kind of finish… and they don’t satisfy you. This will be completed in a way that it will make sense.”
While fans may think that Bohen has read the script of the series, he admitted that he was only told the rough outlines of each episode. The Chicago P.D. actor made further “overconfident” remarks that no show has ever finished as strongly as Costner’s show. He also promised that the series was worth the wait. He shared:
“I don’t know that any show has finished this strongly ever. We’re expecting to have the best series finale in history. Overconfident maybe, but I think that’s what it’s going to be. We thank everyone for their patience… It’ll be worth the wait, I promise.”
Fans really do hope Bohen is right about the series and that some script miracle saves the series from the mess that it has found itself in the middle of. Besides the Kevin Costner drama, the lead actors of the series also reportedly made some fuss, asking for pay raises for spinoff series (via NY Post).
Yellowstone Looks To Avoid The Fate Of Game Of Thrones, Lost, And Other Series With Bad Finales
Game of Thrones finale is one thing that will be stuck as a stinging thorn in the otherwise exceptional fantasy series. Many fandoms find the eighth season as a disgrace to the critically acclaimed show that garnered numerous Emmys. The rushed finale was more due to the lack of proper source material rather than the BTS drama as in the case of Yellowstone.
The list of shows with bad endings is too long as Ian Bohen mentioned in his interview. J. J. Abrams‘ Lost is a popular one on the list especially since it was a promising sci-fi series that took viewers to another world. However, the series left the audiences unsatisfied with its deeply ambiguous ending. The crime thriller drama Dexter also found a place in this list with its finale that offered nothing to the viewers.
Seinfeld and How I Met Your Mother disappointed a lot of sitcom fans with their terrible endings. The list also includes shows like The Sopranos, Battlestar Galactica, True Blood, Killing Eve, The 100, The X-Files, Gossip Girl, and others.
Yellowstone is now available for streaming on Paramount+.
