Directly addressing her on-and-off relationship with ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, fans could not help but be proud of the singer for taking such a big step. For years, fans had been noticing the theme of unhappiness between the pair, however, this was not confined till the release of this song. The world did not know that a storm was coming in the form of a music video.
The music video for Flowers became one of the most memorable moments of 2023. Full of easter eggs and references, it brought both Cyrus and Hemsworth to the center of the media spotlight. Interestingly enough, there was another actress whose name was being paraded around and not in a positive way.

In Miley Cyrus’ music video for Flowers, she wore a beautiful vintage gold dress from Saint Laurent’s autumn/winter 1991 collection. She was seen dancing around a house, having the time of her life, now that she did not need her significant other anymore. While the video, on its own, was a culturally significant moment, fans could not help but notice the similarity of her gown to another celebrity.
At the 2012 Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence wore a similar-looking dress, made by Prabal Gurung. Lawrence starred alongside Liam Hemsworth in the iconic fantasy film series. During the time there were several rumours of the pair being involved with each other. This prompted many to make a connection that Cyrus was implying that Hemsworth cheated on her with The Silver Linings Playbook actress.
Is There Any Truth To The Speculated Affair?
During an interview with Watch Happens Live with Andy Cohen, via E! News, Jennifer, Lawrence addressed the rumors of her having an affair with Liam Hemsworth. She stated, that these were absolutely not true and had no backing behind them.
“No true. Total rumor. I mean, we all know me and Liam kissed one time, it was years after they broke up, so I just assumed that was like a conincidence.” said Lawrence
She did, however, add everyone knows that she and Hemsworth kissed once. However, it was not in any way close to when he was together with Miley Cyrus.
Miley Cyrus also went on to address the conversation about infidelity in her relationship with Hemsworth on X, completely denying it. She stated that there were a lot of things wrong in her marriage with the actor, however, she refuses to admit that either of them being unfaithful to the other was one of them.
“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”
She finished by saying that they deeply care about each other, which will not change. It is safe to say that the truth of the matter is something that will always be up for speculation.
