As with every new entry in this fighting franchise, after the release of different fighter packs, new characters join the game. Mortal Kombat 1 has just confirmed the release date for Ermac, a legendary character who will make his debut in this new title.
This DLC will also include a new Kameo, Mavado will be available in this feature. This will not be the last character to join the roster of fighters; Peacemaker was the previous one to join the game. Homelander from The Boys will also be added sometime this year.
The iconic Ermac has joined the Mortal Kombat 1 roster
Since Mortal Kombat 9, Netherrealm Studios has decided to make fighter packs to add new players as a DLC. With every new entry in the game, the characters were more and more bizarre, all from the 1980s and 1990s. Fighters like Robocop, Rambo, the Terminator, and many more have been featured over the years. WB Games’ influence has added some very familiar faces to the current game.
The time for Ermac has come. This fighter, first introduced as an error in the original MK 2, was later added with this name, thanks to what it means: ERror MACro. Ed Boon and John Tobias finally give this character an opportunity in MK 3 Ultimate Edition.
Fans fell in love with this member of the roster as the years went by, eventually making appearances in almost every new game in the franchise, including the current one.
This will not be the last fighter to be added
In the new trailer where this fighter is introduced with the apparition of Mavado as a cameo. Netherrealm Studios has also shown one of the fatalities that Ermac has, which is really gore and very impressive, probably one of the best of the game.
As always, this character has powers that work in the distance, controlling the body of the enemy from a distance. This was also part of the current version.
Ermac will be available on April 16 as part of the first fighter pack. Previous months also saw the addition of Peacemaker, Omni-Man from Invincible, and Quan-Chi. Only two fighters remain from this pack: Homelander from The Boys and Takahashi Takeda. Homelander will probably launch with a new season of the hit show from Prime Video. At the moment, the studio has not confirmed another fighter pack.
WB Games has achieved another success with Mortal Kombat 1, marking the fourth title since the franchise’s complete revival with the release of MK 9. After rebooting the IP, the whole saga tried everything and almost ruined the game completely with the implementation of a 3D fighting style.
Ed Boon revived the game, going back to a 2D fighting game and going back to show the story of these characters once again, and fans really enjoyed that.
