Any Chance of Potential Return of Adam Driver?

Despite his character’s sad death in Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Adam Driver has spoken about his future interest in the Star Wars franchise.

Driver, who played the part of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo in the latest Skywalker Saga trilogy, has said he’s not “totally against” the idea of playing the same character again.

“No, I’m totally not against it. For me, it’s a filmmaker’s medium, so my only thing is working with great filmmakers. Whatever the size … it’s never been interesting to me, to an extent. There’s interesting things about working on both. I always just follow people I’d be interested in working with, and whether I’d be right for the part — things like that. No, definitely not averse.”

Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy hinted at the return of sequel trilogy characters in the future.

Certainly, those are not characters we’re going to forget. They will live on, and those are conversations that are going on with the creative team as well,” Kennedy said to Empire.

Driver was without a doubt one of the strongest elements of Disney’s sequel trilogy. And there is always a possibility!

Adam Driver Was Hesitant To Play Kylo Ren’s Role

Kylo Ren, one of the biggest villains in the Star Wars franchise, played by Adam Driver is one of the actor’s significant roles in his career. However, Driver was hesitant to take on the role when he was offered.

He was concerned that Kylo Ren wouldn’t be the focus of the film and that he would mess in the part. Thankfully, J.J. Abrams’ idea for “The Force Awakens” was able to persuade the actor to sign on.

“Just because people can remake something or revisit a world doesn’t necessarily mean they should. I’ve seen a lot of bigger-budget movies that sacrifice character and stories for the spectacle and I had no idea what the script was. But the first words out of J.J.’s mouth were about character and story. It was all really cool. And even then, you have doubts. Can I live up to that? I’m a fan of the movies. You don’t want to f*ck it up by any means. It seemed that because I was scared of it, maybe it was a good reason to do it.”

Driver went on to portray Kylo Ren in The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019). Driver’s performance earned positive reviews, and audiences were captivated by his nuanced portrayal of the villain despite the fact that fans had mixed feelings about each of the sequels.
